AAA championship game

Out of bounds was a clear REF choke.

The horn blew because the TV timeout wasn't over yet. The Officials started the game before they were suppose too. I was sitting next to the TV team and know this as fact.

The 3 point foul was a FOUL & a STUPID one at that. If you've not seen the TV replay you need to. If you have and you still say it was then you have NO idea what a foul is.

Additionally, there a foul called "hooking", it's when an offensive player wraps his elbow around a defender and uses that leverage to go by him. The Tourney MVP (and he clearly was the MVP) is a master at it. Over all I think the refs were ok. They are MUCH better than we get at district level.

The ref did choke the out of bounds and alot of others but it was a foul on the last 3 of regulation.

The refs were terrible but it was a foul on the 3 at the end of regulation.

Did anyone else notice the coaching job that Hamiltons coach did? Hamilton had a 6 point lead in regulation with one minute to go and his players were shooting 3 pointers? There were other occasions late in the game and in OT where Hamilton had the lead and the ball and were shooting as if they were behind :o . Hamilton was lucky they had enough talent to overcome and still get the win. Most coaches I know would have been running clock getting the other team to foul and this game would have NEVER went into overtime.

Congrats to Hamilton on their championship and to Shelbyville on a great season.

if you rem. at halftime kevin thomas shelbyville coach(a good ole jackson county boy) TOLD HIS PLAYERS TO keep it close because hamilton wasn't use to close games he was right and I was pulling for shelbyville but bad call side line play he was not close to line but you can't tell some athletes not to shoot even if it beats you and coach from hamilton didn't but they very lucky last shot didn't fall

Congrats to Hamilton and Shelbyville. I witnessed the greatest game played in boys history..................... I still shake my head thinking about it. For all the things wrong with the TSSAA and refs and whatever. What happened on that court Saturday night is what is right with high school athletics. Despite the refs, the fans, the TV and whatever you want to add to that mix. The game was decided by the players.

Yes, your boys left everything on the floor. Couldn't ask for a more exciting high school game.

Hamilton ALWAYS blames the refs when things don't go their way. I remember in the state tournament of 2003 when Hamilton's coach had to be escorted from the court. In that game too, up until the last few minutes when Hamilton was forced to foul, the fouls were in favor of Hamilton. YET, the coach wanted to yell at the refs for every call that went against them. I think Shelbyville has a very classy coach. He outcoached Hamilton, even though they lost. I don't think anybody even thought they would be in the game with them. Congratulations to Shelbyville on a GREAT season and for showing class on the court. I would rather lose with class than win with no class. By the way, there are always many calls in a game that can be questioned. As many go FOR a team as against that team. Personally, I thought the refs did a pretty good job in the state. Much better than I saw during the region tournaments.

Yes, very few people gave Shelbyville a chance. The refs were sure better than what we get in district play.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
