Haywood/North Side vs. USJ (didn't hear about the play-in result)

I heard that in this district, the games for today have already been cancelled. It is 9:30 a.m. and the forecast is for no more rain the rest of the day - have they ever heard of working on a baseball field? Where is that tournament being held?

Have you ever heard of alot of rain last night and the field was probably already wet due to the amount of rain this week! There is no need to destroy a nice field by trying to rush and get the field in half way playable shape and risk injuries to the players because of the conditions. The games are being played in Union City!

Haywood Northside game moved to today (Friday) in Covington. Winner will play USJ in night cap following the Ripley vs Covington game. Not sure about exact times.

Actually, the games are being played at Peabody High School in Trenton, which negates the nice field comment. The 13AA district is being played in Union City, which IS playing tonight.

I can tell you that the field in UC is in very good shape. The grounds crew takes extremely good care of it. Ask any coach or player that walked on it today. There may have been a couple of wet spots, but all in all, it is in great shape!

Congrats to Westview and Gibson Co.. Many would consider these upsets, but it just goes to prove that in High School baseball, you better come to play. Anybody can beat you on any given day. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for baseball. Life is good. Good luck everybody!
