Now with the exception of Seymour, all of the Region 1-3a teams have played a region game.

Carter blanked Claiborne

Gibbs handled Union

and to most of y'all's shock I'm sure, Rutledge thumped PF, who some were wanting to tout as the preseason favorite in the region.

This region is still Carter's to win, but I'm not so sure the gap is as great as others have stated. They're where they are probably due more to them playing murderous competition in 3-4A for so long, but not to the point were they are invincible. I mean wouldn't most teams that have taken beatdowns from Maryville and Central on a regular basis be more competitive if their enrollment allowed?

Region standings...as of week 3

Carter 2-0, 1-0

Rutledge 2-1, 1-0

Gibbs 1-1, 1-0

Seymour 2-1, 0-0

Claiborne 1-1, 0-1

Union Co. 0-2, 0-1 (someone needs to fix their schedule...they didn't lose twice to CAK)

Pigeon Forge 0-3, 0-1

Who replaces Stanton at qb for Carter?

Mark Allen Bounds replaces Bret Stanton as 1st string QB and Landry Stanton is 2nd String.

People must realize that yes we did lose alot last year when we Lost Stanton, Taylor and Littlejohn, but they were not the team. Carter has a wonderful staff of coaches being led by Heath Woods, without their leadership and the teaching of Woods Carters players would not have the team they have. Carter has more talent this year than they have ever had. Teams better watchout for the defensive talent of Joe Hall and Shane Watson, the talent will increase more and more with the next couple of years.

All the respect in the world to Coaches out there because they not only have to work with our children but they have to put up with us parents.

By the way, they lost a lot more than Taylor, Stanton, and Littlejohn. Myers, Shepherd, Romines, and Brown are proving to be every bit as hard, if not harder, to replace.

Sorry couldn't remember all the names from last year, haven't missed a game in 2 years but you know they say the mind is the first thing to go.....lol. Carter has more and more talent coming in every year it just shows what a good youth league and coaching does.

WHA ... WHA ... WHA ... WHA HAPPENED ?!?!

So has the local chapter of the "Our Coach is an Idiot (cause my son's not playing)" club been disbanded after last night? 'Bout time, the guy's 13-2 in his last 15.

???What are you talking about, I feel that if a kid has the talent and ability they should have every right to hit that field no matter what their last name is or the color of their skin. In my opinion there have been mistakes made but all in all Coach Woods is doing the best he can. I think that if a kid is with you year round in that workout room devoting his every free hour he should have the right (and you have been telling him that he is going to play a position busting his butt by getting hit by your starting line at every practice) to start over someone that decides it is more important for him to play other sports outside of the school, sit at home on his butt watching TV, or just deciding he is to good to come to Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer practices. One that comes into the field the week that the team starts hitting and the kids that have been there just get set to the side. And NO!!! I do not agree with freshman getting to play in a Varsity game because last year our freshmans practiced with the Varsity and knew what it was to get hit by a varsity player this year if the have a green shirt on they are not allowed to be hit therefore why should they get to play overtop your sophmores, juniors and seniors that have to practice with the Varsity....

I BELIEVE that Coach Woods and his staff of coaches are doing a great job and if people have problems they should be more of a man/woman and do like I do go in and talk to the Coach he is a very open and understading man and in my opinion a very Strong Asset to Carter High School...

    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
