Condolences to the Oakland Family

Deepest sympathy from the Riverdale family to the Oakland family.

 

For those of you that may not be aware, Oakland senior footballers Kaelin Griffith and Johnathan Murphy were involved in a car accident that took the like of Ashley Murphy, Johnathan's younger sister. Ashley was a sophomore at Oakland.

 

From a PM that I received last night, I understand that Johnathon's injuries were serious but not life-threatening. I'm not sure if Kaelin's injuries were serious. Perhaps someone can update us.

 

This is a tough time for the guy's from Oakland and puts all the other things in perspective. You have my prayers, and especially for the Murphy family.

Wow, this is a really big tragedy. My prayers are with the Murphy family and the Oakland community. I have learned as a human being that nobody is invincible. This is very sad to hear.

Thank you everyone for the prayers for the Griffiths and Murphys. They are really good families with strong Christian backgrounds. Right now, I cannot imagine how the families feel. Losing a child is the ultimate test of faith.

 

You can be sure that the team and the coaches are being as supportive as possible. However, prayers are desperately needed to help with not just the physical recovery but the emotional one as well. Please pray for GOD to comfort this family and lay his protective hand upon them. Medical costs will be astronomical . I am sure that a fund will be set up to help them and anything that could be donated to help them would be appreciated I am certain. The oldest son Micheal , who also played football for OHS, was on a Mission Trip when this happened. This family has given and given to the community and it is time for us to give back to them.
