Macon vs. Pearl Cohn

Recommended Posts

If it weren't a majority black high school in the projects in East-Nashville you guys would have never made such ignorant comments about "cars being jacked" and "cheerleaders escorted" and "barbed wire fences". I would be shocked if you would have said something to that resort if you were playing at say.... Greenbrier :thumb:

I'm not quite sure how to take that. ?

To the MC posters, I had the same misinformation, but I think it was because I am leary of Nashville and all the news about crime. This is a good football team, and although you might feel intimidated, I would be more worried about what the team might do the the Tigers (on the field) than what may happen on your way from the parking lot.

Good luck to both teams.

I have a question...Will they have enough bleachers for the vistors side? Just wanting to know if I need to get there early for a seat. Macon County always has a lot of fans that attend the away games. Looking forward to seeing this game. Our boys have looked good the past two games. Also looking forward seeing an awesome halftime show by the Pearl Cohn Band. I may even move to the home side to see it better. :thumb:

Well I think the Tigers can pull it out this Friday night. But, either way its gonna be big. We can lose big (34-6 against Glennclif) or win huge (7-43 agaist Maplewood). We have been playing our butts off and I think its gonna rub off even more than ever because this will be our hugest chanllege but I think with all of this great energy around us theres no doubt that we will win.

I say Macon:28 Pearl-Cohn:20

GO MACON!!!

Good looking out Big Country ...those comments they made were kinda rude ..buy hey they just didnt know. remember ignorance is tough .... ok. Pearl Cohn Facts ..its not located in East Nashville, Try 904 26th Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208 ,its borderline North and West Nashville, no barbed wire fences, plenty cops so you should be safe :thumb:.

Pearl Cohn will win this one after that beatdown by Maplewood!! they are going to strike back.. and yes they have a great band.

The last game was standing room only!

PC - 38

Just using an example of a majority white school in the country. Other examples could be Cheatham, Sycamore, or Harpeth. You get what I was trying to say???? The reason I used "Greenbrier" is because they're in the same region.

PC has plenty of room for the visitors. If Greenbrier fans had enough room in a game where first place in the region was on the line then I say Macon's fans should feel very satisfied with the seating.

Hey boski I did not know PC was in NW Nashville :thumb:

Pearl Cohn was one of the most hospitable places we played last year. Plenty of parking, seating, great band and the best concession stand anywhere.

One thing to keep in mind….Pearl played a very talented Maplewood team last week. <--100% True!

    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
    • Yeah. AC brass walked in to the building at Clinton and suggested that the principal start changing grades.  Honesty, the notion that anybody at AC was involved is just idiocy.  The ones who are hurt most are the kids who weren't involved in the cheating, but still are being penalized by college admission decisions and scholarship consideration simply because they went to a school that was involved in such a scandal.
