Best Rivalries

my mom handles the ticket sales for Bearden soccer and we made over 5,000 dollars on tickets alone. Working it out, it comes out to be about 1,700 people. That doesn't include people who jumped the fence, other coaches from around TN, the refs that were there for the refs meeting, and people with sports passes. All in all I would estimate a good 1,800-2,000 people were at the Bearden/Farragut game on Monday. Quit possibly the biggest game ever played in Tennessee..... that rivals most football games at Bearden.

no doubt Farragut-Bearden. I was at the game a week or two ago. I have never seen an atmosphere like that in highschool soccer, or even college for that matter. Fans react to every play, every call, everything. I can't wait to see them play again.

It should have read "One of the best high school....." not "One of the better high school" because you are comparing many high schools not just two. English lesson for the day...........YEAH!

Actually, either is acceptable. Inclusion of the preface "ONE of the" properly allows for the dual comparative. "The better" is correct if only comparing two; "the best" is proper if comparing more than two. The phrase "one of the" implies a comparison of a particular rivalry against any other single rivalry.

Sweetwater and Sequoyah (i'm not sure if I spelled that right). Is a great rivalry. While sweetewater is getting better and Sequoyah does not seem to be. This is what is leftover of the old Sweetwater/Madisonville rivalry. These are always BIG games for these two teams.

I would not call Ridgeway vs. USJ a rivalry. Ridgeway has ted these games everytime. I hope one day it will become one but it is not quit a rivalry yet.

A proper rivalry has tradition and competition.

Kingston and Lenoir City is an intense rivalry. They usually meet at least two times during district.

lcsoccer, you are defiantely right, i have seen these two teams and it is always an intense game, i heard of the recent score 2-0 over them, good win. what do you all make of the oneida game this friday? :confused:

Thanks Penny. We played hard against Kingston in the 2-0 win. As far as Oneida, they must be a good team, and we expect them to play hard. They seem confident and why not..they've had a good year, but when we play our game we are good. Should be an interesting game..Good luck to both teams.
