That Coach Potter. He screwed up again and did not let #5 have the ball enough. I think he ought to talk with the fans after the third quarter so that they can tell him what he needs to do to win. That probably cost them the game.

Absolutely, you are probably the one that he should call b/c you seem to know the team so well and the McCallie offense. Let me ask you a question. If you have a cover 2 and there are 8 men in the box and they are playing the safety to take away any routes to #5, what play would you call? To say that McCallie's coaches "screwed up" is an ignorant comment. Fans are in the stands for a reason, they are to cheer on their respective teams. Turn in your resume to the athletice office at McCallie and I am sure they will put you on speed dial.

It's a good thing you aren't a defensive coordinator.

I thought #5 was a running back/slash receiver and the 50+ yards came on running plays and he had 7 additional yards from the first pass of McCallie's QB Coleman.

I watched the playback on this game. What a great game it was. I have a question for the McCallie fans. Where is the fan support? It showed the McCallie side the whole game long. I bet there wasn't 100 fans there. For a team that good the stadium should have been full. Heck! Wartburg and Oliver Springs brought more fans than McCallie did.

Alot of students decided to not drive up because of the fear of severe weather and not getting back until late at night in bad driving conditions. I was able to make it however as I stayed with my grandfather in Knoxville

    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
