Wow... Didn't think there would be this much of a respose.... And I can't believe I forgot Ravenwood in my original list. When I started, I had them in mind, then I just forgot... Guess thats old age catching up with me!!!

Well, even in all the Murphy Fair books I saw back in school I only saw 3 Devil teams. Guess I didn't look hard enough.

 

I agree I have learned a lot of teams with the same names that I didn't know about, but I was just on about not so unique names that would be were I would expect to learn about these. I was just curious to find some different names.

Well here's a few more for you:

Montgomery Bell Academy "Big Red"

Martin Luther King "Royals"

Memphis South Side "Scrappers" (Whats that supossed to be???)

Carroll Academy "Jaguars" (I think thats the only one)

Claiborne used to be the Blue Devils, and have changed their nickname to Bulldogs, that is where that fits in. FOLLOW ALONG.

 

 

I am confused, since when did devils and bulldogs become unique names, i can think of like, a bunch of both.

I think Cloudland nickname is the " Highlanders" that is pretty unique

And i think its Forrest Rockets.

Scott and Gattlinburg-Pittman use the "Highlander"... But the name is Unique to East Tennessee, I believe.

I was wondering which tams have unique nicknames or mascots? I'll give a few...

Unaka "Rangers"

Austin-East "Roadrunners" (I think)

Cumberland County "Jets"

Watertown "Purple Tigers"

Greeneville "Green Devils"

Daniel Boone "Trail Blazers"

Raleigh Egypt "Pharaohs"

( This is my all time favorite!!!) Chattanooga Central "Purple Pounders"

 

they are now known as the purple quarter pounders. Or PUDS

I would like to know how some of these teams got their name. I think that it would be interesting to know.
