Does anyone know why Fayette-Ware had to forfeit their week 1 victory over Gibson County?

im not for sure if that is 100% true but i heard it was true from someone pretty reliable but who knows....the reason being was an inelgible player...coach thompson is doing pretty good at breakin the rules the past 2 years since he's been back guess he didnt get the hint during his suspension but that cant take away from his coaching ability hes a heck of a coach

What exactly do you mean by that????? Playing an 8th grader in the fourth quarter with 3 minutes left to go...... when you are already behind beyond belief???? What other rules have been broken??? DO NOT make accusations that you cannot verify!! The FW players have worked their butts off.

True. Its a shame that they had to take a loss becuase of a player that came in during mop up duty.

What an idiot....

I wonder if anyone who is ridiculing Ripley's chances against Crockett has actually seen them play. This will be a very tough game for Crockett. Ripley has the best defense in 7 3-A. Their front 7 has great size and they are athletic. The Ripley offense is not up to their defense yet. If Ripley can avoid turnovers and giving Crockett a short field, this game will be extremely close.

Coach Wheeler at Ripley should be the front runner as coach of the year in 7 3-A.

He took the job in the midst of turmoil late in the summer, had his potential starting QB move away and has been installing the Wing T bit-by-bit while relying on his stout defense. Since he was at Covington previously, he knows the Wing-T and the Double Wing and will have some insights into how to defense Crockett's version.

Southside shouldn't have a lot of trouble with Fayette-Ware. They will just keep it on the ground, grind out the yards, and deny FW the ball.

If I had one game in West Tennessee to watch this weekend, it would be Crockett County-Ripley.

    • Im more of a Basketball follower than football and like I said we play what we have, there is no going and recruiting or even talking kids into transferring…..and to rebut about Memphis teams in finals I’ve watched Memphis East and Penny Hardaway with the enrollment of a single A team play up and dominate any and all challengers for years! They aren’t the only ones either Mike Miller and son at Germantown put together that super team a couple years ago that ran through the rest of the state! Other teams from Memphis or Chatt or Nash or any large populated area pop up and are relevant out of nowhere every year because they get an influx of talent be it from a new coach or AAU affiliations it happens in football also just like any other sport! I hope these two schools that close join together and get to play the team you support, then you may see it differently! I find it funny some of you think recruiting and resources don’t matter . The county schools get very little funding also but you don’t want to get me started on that part!
    • In a total classless move, Coach Simmons once again shows his true colors. Waits till the day after school is out to let everyone know he is leaving. Fails up to a community college job after a lackluster 2 year span at GH. And do not tell me about the state run that saved a sub .500 season and plenty of whippings by Cookeville and Lebanon.  Looks like the girls job at GH is cursed. Terrible MS program/coaches feeding what is turning out to be a joke of a HS team.
