Let's try to be positive on what they can do to improve, it's easy to just get on here and mock them. So far these have been alright. I think such schools should be allowed to play complete non-region schedules while they build, it doesn't do them or their opponents much good when they're playing Trousdale and Friendship Christian.

RBS has always had a few good athletes, but they have never been able to put much together! In 1999, if I am not mistaken, I think they went 4-6 and would have been 5-5 but they were called for not enough men on the line of scrimmage on a GW FG and after the penalty the FG was blocked! It looked at that point as if RBS may start something, but it never came together!

1 Coach, 1 assistant, no money, no crowd support.

Thats why I respect those young men so much. Its sad when there are teams that have full community support, a stocked coaching staff, awesome facilities, money galore and cant even field a decent team.

If I lived close to RBS, I would volunteer to help anyway I could. To have kids show up to play through that kind of adversity is every coaches dream.

RBS hasn't won more than 3 games since the late 70's. As someone posted earlier, Head coach and 1 assistant will not win you any games. With 25 players they need at least 2 more coaches. RBS will never be any better until the administration gets behind them and hires more coaches. Lack of support will cause anything to crumble!!

Yes I saw RBS play in the Jam at CELINA back in august and was surprised that they had that many players. Seemed to be 40 or so and some of them were very big. It's a shame that these kids don't have the same opportunities as other schools do. It's a credit to their character that they even try. Best wishes to those kids.

One would hope some retired pro football player or coach would read about this and get out of his rocking chair and go help them as a payback to the sport. Any takers?

Yes, BB is the sport of choice over there. One thing I've noticed about the RBS Football program, the roster is small. A friend of mine in the community told me that they've never heard of the team or booster club having a fund raiser such as a chili supper or ham breakfast. I remember my days in high school, the various clubs and groups would get out and have a car wash, sell donuts, candy bars, etc... It would seem they need to show alittle interest so that the community would be more willing to give them support. Despite their record, enthusiasm goes along way.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
