The Smith girl looked real good last year wasnt she a Freshman last season? And the Givens girls look good for the most part but they will have to impove this year and Gentry and Hardin will have to step up and lead this team or it will be a long year for their new coach.

Should be a good test in the HOF game.

Tayler Smith was a freshman last year and was the second leading scorer behind Gentry. Smith lead the team in Rebounding also. I heard she played for an AAU Team out of Anderson County (Tennessee Raiders). They won the State Championship and competed in the DII Nationals in Orlando and came in fourth. Gentry will again be counted on to be their scorer and hopefully provide some team leadership. She needs to be able to bring the team together so they play as a team and not worry about individual stats.

Kingston biggest problem is they dont have anyone that can score from outside. Most teams can clog up the lane making it tuff for them to get the ball down low to Smith and Martin. Until someone develops a consistant outside shot that can be counted on, Kingston girls will continue having trouble on offense.

They have a couple freshman from what I've been told that will be able to contribute this year as well. Brooke Thearpe will get time at point guard and Jenna Raye will probably get time down low. Thearpe is fast and can handle the ball pretty well. Ray has some height and should be able to add to their offense and defense.

You seem to have some inside info. I am guessing your friend in Knoxville is very knowledgeable about this Kingston program???? Good Luck to the Lady Jackets.

Tayler Smith is a strong, athletic young lady who had an outstanding AAU season for the Tennessee Raiders. She played against some real strong competition this past summer and improved her skills tremendously. Tayler can be as good as she wants to be.

If she comes to play every night there is no reason she can’t be the District leader at the post position. ;)

Good luck to all the Tennessee Raiders players this season :thumb:

Congratulations to the Wartburg Girls. I have to say, I was surprised!!. They are better than what I think a lot of people expected. Not taking anything away from their win, Kingston just turned the ball over too many times. They struggle to bring the ball down the court if they are pressed. When they were able to do it, they were so out of control they ended up turning it over anyways. Kingston also got into foul trouble early. The Wartburg girls shoot the ball well. I was impressed with how well they move the ball on offense too. On offense, their girls are continuosly moving setting up screens and picks. This team seemed very solid on fundenmental basketball. Good luck to them the rest of the season.
