I would also like to make a comment about the MVP poll. While I agree that Chaisson is the best player and will win I am strongly disagreeing as Jaffarious as the second best player. I think the top 5 players in the district are Chaisson Allen followed by (in any order) Michael Young, Scott Thomas, Kevin Smith, and Tyler Cutter.... Jaffarious is a nice option and compliment of Chaisson but not a top 5 player in the district. I think Jaffarious, David Barnes, and Alex Carter are the next level players.

After some further thought I will comment once more on the polls. I forgot that Oakland and Siegel by far have the most posters and Riverdale has very few. I wont dispute anyone picking Oakland to win or Chaisson as MVP, but picking Siegel second and Jaffarious Wade second says it all. Come on now, Oakland, Riverdale, and Blackman are the best three teams followed by White Co.

Um great question. Ill be honest, yes I do think Michael Young is better. I think they are equally valuable to the team but yes I think Young is better. Michael is a freak in the post. He is undersized but he has the strongest hands and best post moves I have seen in the district in years. Keith Ramsey, Lucas Jones, Darian Martin, Chris Perkins, Andrew Donald, Ben Sneed are some of the big name post players over the years. Im not saying Young is the best player, but I think he is the best POST player of all based on his moves. Just watch tonight, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but his vast aray of post moves and his post ups and rebounding are incredible. He is a GREAT FT shooter and usually knocks down a three a game.

Kevin brings ALOT to the table though, he leading the area in assist and steals I believe and is just a tough matchup and does a great job with his on the ball D.

RD, if you would read what Ive said earlier in these threads I recongnized leaving some guys out and for that, I encouraged folks to vote for other if they think otherwise and they have. I think after Chaisson, its hard to pick 4 and give a top 5, although Kevin Smith as my vote as the 2nd best player in this district. But when Jay plays like he did tonight, its hard to argue against him being right up there

Blackman-76

Siegel-50

End of first half it was Blackman-50, Siegel-26

Siegel is by far the unclassiest student section in the STATE. When David shot free throws they chanted"Druggie". When Alex shot free throws they chanted "anorexic".

Siegel did have one good cheer though

We chanted "We are Blackman"

They chanted"Quit complaining"

I liked that one. ha

Can Blackman get some credit? They dominated Siegel by 20+ tonight, beat White Co. in White Co, which is not easy, beat Riverdale in a game that wasn't as close as the score said it was, and barely lost to Oakland. They have the 2nd ranked defense in the district (just over 46 ppg), despite already playing the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ranked offensive teams in the district. And also the best pure shooter in the district in Alex Carter (yes...he's a better shooter than Cutter). I just don't understand how people can pick Siegel to win the district over Blackman and Riverdale. But then again, Siegel fans are pretty stuck up aren't they? Even though I go to Blackman, I think the Blaze have to play near perfect ball to beat Oakland at home.

Top 4 teams in the District:

1. Oakland (Oakland 42, Cookville 41???)

2. Blackman (loss to Oakland only blip on district radar)

3. Riverdale (tough losses to Blackman and Oakland)

4. White Co. (will shock some people at home...look out)

The rest are too close to call.

OK...my take on the game...it was a real good game too bad we didnt get good officials to go with it..this was by far the worst 3 we have had all year 2 top 10 teams and we get guys like that unreal....unfortunatly they played a big part in this game....but i digress

I am very proud of my WARRIORS tonight they faught the whole game oakland did a nice job of executing in clutch situations and i give them full credit for that.. we didnt have much of an answer for kit on the inside however micheal did get several rebound but he worked his butt off to get them too both kevin and chaison go theirs like you knew they would wade played fairly well too i thought both teams played well we just came up short (still fussin about officials under my breath) coach Burks did a good job tonight coaching made some good adjustments early in the game as oakland jumped out to like a 11-2 score or somthin like that and we responded and took a lead i thought the big play was when oakland shot a 3 and missed but we fouled the shooter and they took the lead with those 3 free throws and also on the offensive end for oakland they had 2 possesions in a row were they exectued their play very nicely

had a good time at the game wish we could have pulled off the sweep but still proud of our boys effort

EJ SHOOT THE BALL AND QUIT PUSHING IT AND SHOOT WITH CONFIDENCE!!!!!!

LOVE YA KID

jay played well, i sat beside blackmans chase randle the entire game he mentioned from playing with jay and just knowing him well that he is the best player he has ever seen at drawing fouls and i agree fully. he scored 10 off of foul shots tonight.
