Will be interesting this year as to who will win Region. While Smyrna won state, Region is still firmly at R'dale. :D

Yes I would have preferred that R'dale had won state, but I am glad they are still consistant. That can be built on while the other could wind up a one hit wonder. You know sort of like ALL the Smyrna fans that SUDDENLY showed up after they beat R'dale for ONCE.

Has anybody even heard from them after Smyrna won state? :D

SCN is right, smyrna has a passing offense fitting for a passing QB (sonny) and riverdale has a running offense fit for a running QB (mauricio). his comment was on point, though i dont see mauricio going anywhere

If he did come to Smyrna he could play a different skill position. It's not written in stone that he has to play QB.

Wingman is a great supporter of Oakland Athletics. All we have to do is keep feeding him the hot dogs. :(

By the way, I saw where you asked about who made the song on the basketball thread. I didn't want to post there because I might have said something about Cutter and set off a flurry. I believe it was Jay Swift and Quen something. If anyone knows there names, they can correct me. It started when we made slogans for the games, and the seniors expanded our slogans into a chant and then made it into a song.

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
