Top 5 in no specific order.

South Pitt.

Gordonsville

Friendship Christian

Mt. Pleasant.

Trinity (my sleeper team to watch out for)

I have Trousdale Co, Jo Byrns, and Hampton right behind these teams so i guess that would be my top 8.

A couple teams that im not sure that i would like to hear about would be Union City, Lake Co., McKenzie, Coalfield,Midway, Collinwood, Bruceton.

What do these teams have comin back for 2007?

Should be a good year in Class A in 2007.

Bruceton returns all but 3 on offense and defense. Key returners on offense are chad jordan and alex matlock, both allstate. Defense key returners are the linebackers, defensive backs, and alex matlock.

1. FCS- they're the best team returning in 1A and until someone knocks them off they're #1. You've got to beat the best to be the best.

2. Mt. Pleasant- you can say all you want about the "one man show" but someone is going to step up for my boys and they're gong to shock alot of people.

3. Jo Byrns- everyone counted them out this past year loosen there QB and they still went undefeted, and this year they have some returning playmakers.

4. Trousdale County- traditional powerhouse had an off year, watch out.

5. South Pitt- always dangerous!!!

Don't know much about Regions 7 and 8.

1. Gordonsville - Returning man child at QB and a well coached team.

2. FCS- Lost some, but still have Rickaway and Markham.

3. Mt. Pleasant- The team to beat out of the west. Dailey is dangerous.

4. South Pittsburg- They will finally be an "Older" team.

5. Hampton- Returns most of the playmakers except for Townsend.

Others To Consider

Trousdale County- NEVER count out "The Guru's" team.

Lake County- Coach Barger has got that program headed North

Fayette Academy- Should be improved

Bruceton Central- Has many returning starters

Surprise Teams To Watch

Silverdale- Coach Allen was known for his uncanny ability to "Get Transfers" at LFO. Everyone in the area better watch out because all those transfers will be eligible. 1-9 in 2005, 4-6 in 2006, at least 8-2 in 2007.

1. Gordonsville ( Looks to be everybodies favorite)

2. Mt. Pleasant( If they can find a second weapon)

3. South Pittsburg( Still young, but will be better)

4. Friendship Christian( Losing some talent, but returning more)

5. Jo Byrns( Offense will be near unstoppable next year, but have alot of ?'s on D)

On the Bubble: Trousdale County, Trinity Christian, Cascade,Hampton, Coalfield,

Just my opinion, but i dont know alot about what teams have returning other then

region 5 and 6.

You better ad FCS to that little list of yours because their coming back stronger than ever and never under estimate Coach Lowe's D.

Old Pirate says TRG is on target with this post. :( TRG seems to be more in tune with reality than the Geno.

1. G-ville, To good not to be considered.

2. South Pitt. Way to much speed.

3. FCS. FCS should stand for football champion's school.

4. Trousdale. Great program.

5. Jo Bryns. Don't know much about thier ball team but they have a good band.

Watch Mt. Daily and crew they might do something if Daily stays injury free.

3.Mount Pleasant

4.Silverdale

5.Gordonsville

FCS,Grace Baptist, and maybe Temple are teams to watch out for, also.

Temple lost almost everything and will be lucky, real lucky, to win half of their games. Silverdale is up and coming but not ready for the big time just yet.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
