i think farragut is a very good team in fact maybe the best in Knoxville. I have really enjoyed watching them play. Yes Farragut beat AE but they also lost to Fulton twice. I just think the rankings are worthless. I mean there are so many west tennessee teams better than the teams over here. i do enjoy farragut they are a very good team.

i know Farragut lost to Fulton twice. Farragut came back from 21 to take the lead but lost in OT. the second game Farragut was up by like 15 and let Fulton come back. Fulton and AE are probably as close as u will come to Memphis when looking at teams in Knoxville. maybe in ET. i was just saying that they beat AE because AE beat Fulton and AE is ahead of Fulton in state.

i typed those exact words but decided not to post them.

GovMan did you go to the game Friday? or is there anyone that did?

I was there. WB boys played a very solid ... very complete game. Farragut was never able to establish any momentum. As I said earlier ... they could have possibly been overlooking WB.

William Blount seems to perform well against the Admirals. Over there, earlier in the season, they led for 3 quarters before Farragut came on strong the final period to win. This time, Farragut was never able to dig out of the hole they got themselves into.

Blount has a definite size disadvantage, but like a lot of "shooting teams", when they are hitting their threes, they can stay in games. Friday night, start of fourth quarter, pointguard Michael Thompson, who usually isn't a huge scorer, hits three consecutive treys.

Friday night was also a huge incentive game for WB. With the win, they assured themselves of a 4 seed in the district and a home game to start the tournament. While the Governors don't match up well on paper with many teams in our area, I still wouldn't look forward to having to play them in the post season. On any given night ...

I agree that Farragut isn't overrated. I disagree that their point guard play isn't solid. Phillips/Hunley are very solid. They probably aren't at the level of guys like Stephens, Damron, Hargis, Roth, and Sharp but they really don't have to be with their supporting cast. As long as they take care of the ball and make some open shots, Farragut will be fine.

I really like Hunley but feel that Phillips is the weak link on that team. He started off the Karns game with 2 turnovers and a foul in the first 20 seconds of the game. You basically proved my point when you listed 5 other guards ahead of them in the region. Phillips has played well against bad teams but struggled against good teams and teams that really pressure them in my opinion.
