Baseball season is almost here! I love the smell of cut grass and glove leather and that distinctive 'ping'.

I'm trying to remember who's bringing back what, but here's a shot at it...Don't hold me to it.

1. Harpeth- What is it, 10 seniors returning?

2. Creekwood- Peaceout!

3. Fairview

4. Montgomery Central

5. Sycamore- They'll miss Knight and Bullard.

6. Stewart County

7. Waverly

8. Cheatham

Big expectations, eh?

8 starters from back to back state tournament team returning 5 which have signed pre-season about to be 6, with overpowering pitching 1-4 slots with 3 great relievers and a new hard throwing closer, returning 37 hrs of 43 hrs from last years team. 11 seniors in all. With a senior being looked at closely by minor league scouts. Our goal is not to go to state but to win state. It is a lofty goal, "But as Herb Brooks said as the coach of the [1980 gold medal-winning] U.S. national [hockey] team, if you don't have lofty goals then what is the sense in competing?"

everyone knows sycamore lost two great ball players in bullare and knight but they wont fall off that much. we all know harpeth will be great. thats a given, but expect sycamore to be competing. sycamore will do no worse than third place. oh and back on harpeth, i shouldnt be saying this going against my war eagles but if yall dont win state then it will be a huge upset to the whole county. oh and i have to give a shout out to p-roy. man your sick. cant wait to see some great baseball this season. oh and who is the player getting looked at by the minors?

    • That is absolutely not the truth.  Few if any college coaches or school administrators want to be in the middle of legal proceedings if there is any way possible to avoid being caught in the middle.  With that being said I have two questions: 1.  Why would a coach remove any player from the team for using the F WORD?  Yes, I fully understand the player must be held accountable for her actions.  Maybe extra running and even a one game suspension but if every kid or coach that used improper language was kicked on the team or fired, they would have no players or coaches available to play the games. 2.  If there was truly another player or coach that witnessed this situation, and they agree with the player then by all means the coach should be held accountable for their actions.
    • 1st round exit?        For real ?!?!?!                     Oh wait.....    are we talking band or football?
    • Assistant football staff still the same? Any replacement for Brian Beaubien? Who will be the DC? Will there be anything going on this spring with football? I go watch practice often.
    • Their feeder programs are in the best shape they've ever been.
    • The definition of what happened to the ex-coach is ambiguous. The school said they were going in a different direction and thanked her for her service as coach. Apparently, coaches in Warren County operate on one-year agreements of some type. Rumors are that she was asked to resign, and refused. Whatever happened, it appears that the school system did not renew the one-year agreement with the ex-coach to come back for another season. One and done tenure as coach. Stotts has been a guidance counselor at the high school in Warren County. Several years ago, the former girls coach who is now an AD and assistant principal dismissed Stotts from his staff on the first day of the season. That reality made the hiring of Stotts a mystery to many people in Warren County.
