District 8AAA All District Team & MVP

Congrats to Savannah Hill for being named 8AAA MVP.

The rest of the names are as followed.

 

Shelbyville- Anisha Buchanan, Alex Jarrell, Ceny Phelps

 

Lincoln Co- Savannah Hill, Lessa Jeffries, Natasha Eddings

 

Lawrence Co.- Danna Jackson, Jessica Southern

 

Franklin Co. - Cori Jones, Angela Spann, Andrea Bennett

 

Columbia- Lateria Owens

 

Coach of the year- Lynn Burkey (Shelbyville)

 

That is how it is listed in the paper I read. If anyone is put on the wrong team I appologize. Congrats to all recipients.

Lawrence County And Franklin Co. is reversed. I would give Wendy Scott my vote for Coach of the year. She took a team that was 500 last year and in turmoil and turned the program around.

I also think Coach Scott should have one coach of the year. Not taking anything away from Shelbyville's coach but in my opinion, Coach Scott did more with her program.

in district 7 every team gets a player so its kind of tacky that its not done the same way in 8-AAA

 

but this kind of thing happens in all 8-AAA sports

 

i'm convinced that the district needs to stop giving out awards

I agree, but before you get down on the league's coaches, better make sure Coffee's coach nominated her! He has a knack for not nominating his own players, if you remember! Ridiculous but true!

So each team's coach must nominate a player before the other coaches can vote on her? Is that the procedure in 8AAA? If I was coaching I would want my players to get all the recognition they could. What's up with him?

Yes- they must be nominated by their coach in order for the other district coaches to vote on them. Don't know if she was nominated or not.

Just because some schools have a higher concentration of talent and some schools dont have anyone worthy of being named all district doesnt mean that were "tacky" nice vocabulary by the way

YES INDEED bear1, I seem to recall him not nominating his players a FEW TIMES...that's a darn shame, and people wonder why he gets no respect....HE GIVES NONE!
