Bolivar Central vs Liberty Tech Magnet IV

Last year everyone already knows how a young team in Liberty Tech won the hearts of many fans in Murfreesboro and won the Class AA State Championship. On their way to that state title they suffered three defeats to the same district rival (that of course being Bolivar). Bolivar won the two regular season meetings then beat them again in the District 12AA Championship Game. The fourth meeting came in the Region 6AA Title Game and Liberty Tech made some history. They finally beat their arch rivals and with that "monkey off their back" they then went on to roll to a state title with wins over the likes of Haywood & Mitchell.

This year the roles are reversed. It is Bolivar who is the young team with the pressure off of them while Liberty Tech is the heavy favorite to win the state title. Liberty has three wins over Bolivar with the last one of course coming in the District 12AA Championship Game just a few weeks ago. Bolivar is a team that everyone keeps saying will be the odds on favorite to win Class AA for the next two years following this one but I say who's to say they can't win it this year?????? They are still playing last time I checked.

Will Liberty Tech steamroll Bolivar for the fourth time this season and the fifth consecutive time overall OR will the Tigers shock the folks statewide (much like Humboldt did last night against Union City) and knock off the mighty Crusaders?????????????

Liberty will win this game. How much they win it by depends on Bolivar. In the District Championship, I don't think Liberty's press gave Bolivar much trouble. However, when Bolivar broke the press, they came down and made some quick and really bad shots. If Bolivar takes better shots then Liberty wins between 16-20. If the don't, it will be 27+.

The difference in last year and this year is Liberty/Bolvar's matchups were all close last year. This year Liberty has won easily all 3 times. Anything can happen and Bolivar is always tough, but Liberty wins. It will be interesting to see how Liberty handles the favorite's role this year, with many already annointing them state champs, it is definitely a different approach from last year.

Liberty will take home the region title to Jackson. The biggest problem is the gym may not hold all of the people that will be at the game.

Bolivar is not good enough to upset Liberty. The Crusaders only real concern is Booker T. Washington.

Liberty will win by 22, 96-74.

I feel this game will be closer than the district championship. Liberty didn't even press Bolivar. Bolivar pretty much killed themselves by taking quick shots and the put backs by Antwan Long after misses. I feel they will be a little more focused tonight. Tonight you will see Bolivar show some patience.

Bolivar Key To Da Game:

1) Be Patient

2) Value every crack at the basket

3) Keep Liberty off the Boards
