[From a Shelbyville fan] Hey, Cleveland is a better team than Shelbyville this year, just as they were two years ago when Cleveland clobbered Shelbyville at Cleveland as well in the sub-state. Shelbyville has nothing to be ashamed of, losing to the best team in the state. We've won enough championships that we don't need to make excuses when we lose to the better team. We'll be rooting for Cleveland at state. Good luck!

Turnovers will do it every time and fi you look at Shelbyville, this year was one that they might have created more turnovers than in years past, at least that is my observation. This bings a point that seemed to be fairly prominent before the season when Coach B was short a qualified Asst coach up until the time practice started and really had to fill in. This was a minor thing but major things develop from alot of minor things. For w while it looked as if he would rollthruit but IMO, the extra help would have been helpful. Good luck Eagleettes.

is this in sarcasm.. Cleveland was 2-2 in the Tournament of Champions (the toughest high school bball tourney in the country) on top of:

 

beating D2 state champ Webb (29-4)

Dickson Co. (23-9)

Walker Valley three times (27-6)

Greenville who is in the elite 8 (32-3)

McMinn Co. twice (17-9)

Bradley Central 4 times who made the sweet 16 (25-12)

and of course sweet 16 Shelyville (30-7)

their only loss in the state this year was a fluke to elite 8 Livingston Academy (28-8) by 3 at LA

that is a record of 13-1 against teams with a combined record of 211-45. This excludes the TOC teams they played who I am positive all have winning records in their respective states.

 

So either warrior was being sarcastic or is just ignorant.

You guys beat us twice this year too. BADLY I might add. We won our region and hosted the sectional only to lose to a very good Livingston Academy team. You guys were very good in transition and your halfcourt defense is tight.

Well I don't know why everyone is so suprised. Shelbyville played them closer than any other team in the state, and @ Cleveland on top of that. IMNSHO they were the best 2 from their side of the bracket. Only time will tell, but I think that if Cleveland plays as it is capable then they are in the finals and have a tremendous shot at the GOLD BALL. I know one thing for certain Cleveland has replaced Brandley Central as the Region 3 Big Girl on Campus. Good luck girls.

I would have to beg to differ. Greeneville lost to them in DOUBLE OT. The numbers may show more of a loss(pt wise) than the Shelbyville game, but the double OT speaks for itself.

This is what really aggervates me about this board---for some reason the entire purpose of girls basketball continues to be forgotten. Some of the post honestly are quite humerous. Do you realize how hard Shelbyville players and coaches work? These players are pushed to their limits each and everyday. They have grown up dreaming of becoming an Eaglette and hoping that they have enough courage to follow in the previous champions footsteps. Has it been forgotten that yes, this team is full of girls that are simply just that girls playing their hearts out. Everyone wants to get on the bashing band wagon and blast Shelbyville, Wilson Central, or any other winning program--is this jealousy, is it stupidity, you be the judge. My suggestion is this----have respect for every team, I do know that there are several very hard working teams that could never come close to Shelbyville, so does that mean we all sit back and bash them. Another thing before you use a players' name on this board remember that she or he is a teenager that yes will make mistakes and again is trying to be the best. Have some respect and enjoy the love for the game.
