CSAS vs. Westside

I think people are honestly picking Westside based off of the fact that they ae from Memphis, no legitimate analysis of the team other than the fact that they are quick and they like to shoot the three. No one really knows anything about them. I have talked to people who are from and/or still live in Memphis and they cant tell me anything about Westside they are THE biggest mystery going into the tournament in all three classifications

They play about 5 people and are small and quick. They shoot a lot of 3's. I'll take CSAS b/c shooting in the Murphy Center will be an adjustment, especially at 10:30 in the morning.

That is very true the depth perception messes with you the 1st few minutes you play in there, I know because I was a superstar in basketball class my freshman year. lol also that is a big floor if they only play five people they may wear down

According to the stats offered by coacht.com, Westside is enjoying their first winning basketball season in quite some time. Their record since the 2001-2002 season is as follows:

 

2001-2002 11-16

 

2002-2003 9-16

 

2003-2004 8-19

 

2004-2005 7-10

 

2005-2006 5-15

 

2006-2007 21-7

 

Of their opponents this year, 15 games were played against opponents with a losing record.

That may be true, but they won their district, region, and the substate game against quality teams.

their sub state opponent had 15 losses going into the game granted they played some stiff competition but 15 losses is a lot

I am not doing anything but trying to promote some discussion that will end up providing some useful information in evaluating the game to be played. The fact that they played a fairly weak schedule during the regular season is not the question. I want to know what changed in the post season? Did the teams that they had previously lost to underestimate them? Was it the "emotion" issue of their school closing? Did someone or ones step up?

Well 10 of those losses came against Union City, Lake County, and Humboldt. 5 were against Humboldt.
