QUOTE(bulldawg21 @ Mar 16 2007 - 03:20 PM) 826414377Maryville High School baseball gets no respect. They have beat 2 of the top 5 teams in the past week. Where is the respect

who have they beaten? and no offense...but a team is judged on how far they go in the post season in high school....records dont mean a whole lot...and maryville hasnt had a bad team the past few years....they are just in the shadows of better programs (bearden farragut)

It's too early in the season to get too hyped up. They have two good wins. They still have to face Farragut, Bearden and SD. This is a tough district. I think they have everyone's attention.

Maryville will get respect when they earn it. The last 2 years, they have been average at best so it will take more that a 3-0 start. I am a Rebel Baseball fan but it way to early to start talking about them not getting respect. Who cares as long as they win anyway.

QUOTE(MenInBlack @ Mar 17 2007 - 12:12 AM) 826414923If you walk by Maryville's trophy case and look at all those gold balls you will notice none are for winning a single regular season game....Respect comes with titles.

Maryville has a state title in baseball but it was 18 long years ago. Your post was on the money.

If Maryville can beat Farragut,Bearden and South Doyle in the postseason they will get a ton of respect.
