Well shawns first day is in the books and let me tell you he brings what the Cyclone program needed(DISIPLINE FOR SURE) THE CYCLONES WILL BE DANGEROUS,BELEIVE WHAT YOU WONT BOUT THIS MAN BUT HE HAS IT ALL

Without a doubt, he gives the players someone to believe in and to respect as a coach. I'm sure Witten will demand as much from his assistants as he will from his players. A real players coach. Players will work for this man to rebuild the broken Cyclone program. It won't be an overnight success but the foundation has been laid and this will show how bad the leadership has been in the past.

GO CYCLONES!!

: Watch out the CYCLONES have got some fire in them now! Whole different ballgame when your leader is motivated!

If the lose this year not one person can say they werent ready to play!! More kids are out to play and the seniors are acting like leaders!!! Things in the CYCLONE house will be different this year!!!

P.S.---Hampton has a great team but please dont start that they can play with 4 and 5a teams just the numbers game of players would get them beat!!!

No one said they could play with 4 and 5a schools. Just stated the FACT that Elizabethton would have struggled against Carter County's 1A schools. Eliz is not a 4A school (by student count). You have to admire them for stepping up and trying to play the bigger schools though!

Hampton would be just fine in region 1 4a. Ask Johnson Co or Unicoi, they would tell you the same thing. They wouldn't be a powerhouse, but who is? At one time the Cyclones were a powerhouse and I for 1 hope they can get back to the glory days. Hopefully the new Coaching staff will do a great job, but its not automatic by any means.

no sorry it wasnt i know why we didnt scrimmage cause it was never set up to we tried this year for a scrimmage and passing leauge and they said NO and wouldnt call us back the second time but Cloudland did i know have the boys up at Hampton like both dustins, blake russel, roop, lunsford, they know it a different leauge and so do you

It's time for you to know a couple things.... 1) There is no Santa Claus and 2) Coaches don't always tell players the 100% truth.

Fact: For years Elizabethton would call Hampton and try to set up a scrimmage. Hampton wouldn't because at the time Elizabethton was a lot bigger and better. The past 2-3 years when the talent and size was/is in Hampton's favor, they called wanting a scrimmage and Elizabethton politely declined. The phone was hung up and the comment made, I ain't taking my boys up there to get hurt against those big ol' mules.

Hampton wouldn't do it when Elizabethton wanted to and now, Elizabethton will not when Hampton wants to. Can't blame 'em.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
