This is going to be Ensworth's first real test to see if they are ready take it up a notch. They scrimmage Hillsboro Saturday (the 11th) at 9am at Ensworth High School. Ensworth has already had one scrimmage against Columbia and just tore them apart like they were nothing. They let Columbia drive the ball but it seemed that when Columbia got inside the 20 Ensworth had a whole new look and mentality to their D, they didnt give up a single point. So it will be interesting to see if that D they showed inside the 20 will show up against Hillsboro on the 11th.

Comment on how you think this will turn out. Is Ensworth even ready for this kind of play yet?

I think Ensworth will give the Burros a stiff challenge. Hillsboro will have a few more athletes, but EHS will likely be more disciplined...which is typical of a Bowers coached squad. I'm interested to hear about Ensworth's pass defense against the spread.

A little off topic, but has Ensworth expanded their stadium for the upcoming season?

With all due respect, shutting out Columbia doesn't mean anything at all.

I think that Ensworth's discipline and athletes will help them, but Hillsboro is just a superior team with much more experience. Be interesting to see how Matt Arent's former teammates take to him.

This is a step in the right direction for the Tigers, regardless of the outcome.

Playing a Metro school at 9:00 AM on a Saturday puts you at an advantage right there. They will still be asleep.

Come on now Bigchief, you know that Hillsboro is not your typical metro team. Ensworth has a tremendous coaching staff with very disciplined players so this will be a good battle. The Burros need to compete against disciplined teams in order to prepare them for the real battle in two weeks with Franklin. That is why they will scrimmage BA next week.

Please give us your definition of a TYPICAL metro team, and why Hillsboro is not. Do not disregard your " open enrollment ".

Take advantage of Ensworth ,if you can, because you will not be able in the coming years.

I look for Ensworth to become THE dominant power in the area .

You are so correct! Give Ensworth four or five more years and they will be playing for state and national championships. It's going to get very ugly.
