We have all forgotten "the best of times" with kurt russell and robin williams. classic football story of a underdog and a comeback kid.

Also I think it is facing the giants, rudy, and the titans

Yes, I forgot about " The Best of Times". Look out when Kurt puts on his white cleats!!! Go Jets!! It was without a doubt the best "has been" movie ever.

"Giants... Giants.... HELP US GOD!!!" HaHa Little Giants is my favorite movie of all time!!!

But "Facing the Giants" is a great low-buget inspirational/football movie

Still haven't seen "We are Marshall," but plan to catch it soon.

Loved Radio, Rudy, Junction Boys, and many of the others mentioned in this thread, BUT. . .

My favorite for the first part of my life was the original Billy Dee Williams, James Caan duo as Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo in "Brian's Song." It was a great read also.

But my all-time favorite since it came out, and the football equivalent of what "Hoosiers" is to basketball, is

"Remember the Titans." I teach it as part of a literature unit on prejudice and discrimination in my high school sophomore English class.

    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
