Hillwood Curse?

Last night Hillwood was dominated by father ryan. With so many athletes on the field how do you loose so badly? It makes you think theres smoe kind of curse

If you mean were they out of shape and outcoached? Then the answer is yes. They got spanked by a good Father Ryan team. JP II will get thumped next week.

Don't know about August through October, but George Quarrels is the curse in November.

Lavergne had almost 500 yards of offense against a decent region 4 (5a) defense last night.

 

I hope Hillwood can improve all year - but don't be too down on them if Lavergne scores lots of points.

Lots of those people were from Blackman...another reason to give them a shout out for doing a great job supporting their team on the road.

 

Unfortunately, Hillwood has no such huge support anymore. I wish they did for personal reasons that I won't get into right now...

 

Even when they were in 4a a while back (about 3 years) and had a 12 game winning streak, the support could have even still been better for them - and that was the high water mark since the late 1970's or so.

 

 

There will be no rush for parking and tickets due to the visitors Friday and it's a shame.

Yeah, about 20 or 30 of Blackman's fans had to sit on the LaVergne (well, didn't have to) because of such limited room. Tempers were rising, not gonna' lie. haha

Metro needs to turn Hillwood into a magnet school like Hume Fogg & MLK but have a football program. If you took a census you would find that over 75% of the kids living in Hillwood/West Meade attend private school so you get zero community support.

If Hillwood was turned into a magnet school...where would the kids in that zone go to school that are not the "magnet school academic" types?

 

There are bound to be some in Bellevue and Charlotte Park who wouldn't fit into the typical "magnet school" model of student.

 

Having a magnet school at HHS would mean parents wouldn't automatically have to send the kids to a private school..so if the 1st part of the deal (where to send the non-magnet types) could be worked out, that might be a solution to alot more than football.

Tell the "powers to be" at Hillwood.......it does not matter who has on the coaching hat........ain't happening for a few years....every time you so call "change" coaches....only prolongs the process....leave it alone and the kids will respond........
