grace vs silverdale

Silverdale will not win this game! I feel very confident in that statement. Silverdale as not proven they can win the game. Last years ride of success at the close of the season is misleading. Silverdale had wins over Whitwell and Copper. Whitwell missed key players on both sides of the ball due to injury that would have made a big difference in the game. Copper was just bad last year. Silverdale has yet to prove anything this year. Their scrimages didn't prove anything maybe a scrimage with Boyd would have given us something, but wait, they backed out at the last late the light before. Their two wins over Oliver and Riverside are a joke. Oliver and Silverdale both looked bad in that game, Oliver just looked a little worse. Riverside is a first year varsity program that could be the weakest team in the state. Still no proof. Grace lost to a healthy Whitwell last year. Defense did not play well at all. The offense had nearly 500 yards of production, had at least 3 dive stall with turnovers on downs inside the Whitwell 20. Did not play well, lost and should have. Grace should have lost to Copper but the fact that they played for one quarter and scored 28 straight points to end the game and win proves they could have very easily beaten up on them like Silverdale did. Grace played a weak 4A Central team to a tie that included two droped passes that would have scored. Silverdale played Notre Dame to a tie. Central beat on ND like the red headed step child. Grace played a well respected and strong CPA team to a 1-0 win. All of these things equal to a Grace win.

I like Grace by 14 in an emotionally charged game. I could also be wrong.

Didn't Silverdale get beat pretty handily to the same Central team Grace tied in a pre-season scrimmage? Then they were destroyed by Marion County. (Just before they backed out on Boyd.) Grace wins by at least a touchdown, even with the six players who just happened to all show up at Silverdale in the same year. (Is anyone really that naive?)

I am not sure which way to go on this one. Part of me wants to jump in with those drinking the Kool-Aid and say Silverdale will win it. But the other part of me wants to say that Grace has yet to lose to Silverdale and until that time comes go with Grace. Both teams should be improved from last year. Everyone talks about the new players at Silverdale but Grace is returning a good group of players. I think this one is a toss up.

I think that Grace has did not have as much room to improve with the level of players they had. Silverdale had a lot of room to improve and has done so. Grace's coaches have a well established system last year while Silverdale was still putting their's together. This will be Silverdale's year to win the contest, just like Cal and UT this past weekend.

Drinking the Kool-Aid???? Surely it's not that big of a stretch to think SD will win

Improved that much? Beating a bad Oliver Springs team and a nothing in Riverside is not really a demonstration of improvement. They could have done that last year.

As far as Graces players go, they were a somphomore laden team last year. The physical ability and strength difference alone is huge between 10th and 11th grade, not to mention their skill progression and poise.

somebody s going to drinking more than kool aid after Friday night first of all where is the game being played? next, they did not cancel that was the tme when Hamilton county cancelled the times until later in the day and supposedly he was going by that and the safety of the kids ( i wouldnt nor would you take the responsibility of these kids health in your hand when its 110 outside, heat index) if your that worried about a scrimmage then you ve got problems, i dont think ANY coach would be scared to play anyone for the sake of getting some good reps and practice. if hr scrimmaged Central and Marion why would he be scared of Boyd

    • There's going to be more fallout from this.  It's not over.   A criminal investigation is also underway.  Additional school counselors have been fired.   As far as coach flip flops is concerned,  a lot of people knew he was flirting with disaster. He was recruiting failed athletes from other schools. Grades and discipline issues that got otherwise good athletes kicked off other area teams were playing at CHS. Grades, addresses or transfer rules be dam ed. It was just a matter of time.  It's a culture issue at the school. I've heard an assistant coach and teacher for another sports team was let go for not breaking up a fight on campus between 2 girls.  Supposedly he's only there because of coach flip flops, they're close.  That guy's kid, who's a great athlete in the school,  will probably transfer out to.  There's just so many layers to this .   I'm not sure the director of all Anderson county schools doesn't get bit by this somehow. He's the one who wanted, pushed for the principal at Clinton in the first place.  He initially denied anything had been uncovered when a local station broke the story.  He had to back track his statements.   It's ugly in Clinton right now folks.   Add in the fact that there's such a huge rivalry with ACHS across the river,  it makes it bitter for clinton fans if they say anything.  Especially given the dominance that ACHS has had over Clinton for 20+ years in  almost everything.
    • Congratulations to y'all. I have been texting some Huntingdon friends. What a great accomplishment. Proud of y'all. Keep battling.
    • I remember it happening, but I don't remember the details. I usually have headphones on so I don't hear the PA anyway. But it seems like a guy I know was doing it at one point, but he either didn't start it or didn't finish. I don't remember which.
    • Kreuziger from Huntingdon has been fantastic on the mound!  I think if the Fillies can score a couple of runs tomorrow it may be all they need to capture their first ever state championship in Softball.  Great day to be a Huntingdon fan!  Baseball team has won 17 in a row and plays for State Championship tomorrow also!
    • More like to much bad publicity so we have to do something. Happens all the time
