siegel did have a good middle school team last year...so it would not surprise me

The Jefferson County freshman squad is awesome this year. With a new coaching staff, this team is completely the opposite of the teams the past couple of years. Coach Wood and Coach Miller have done a great job. Keep up the great work. The future is looking very bright.

Actually, Smyrna beat Riverdale. It was 2 or 3 overtimes I think. They announced at the Smyrna / BA game last night that they won on Thursday against Wilson Central. Somebody said they were undefeated so far. I'm not sure who else they have played. Does anybody know?

i think you are right...it was riverdale over smyrna by a few points...something like 46-42...

smyrna is 3 and 0 and are doing this with the 2 best freshman in the region starting for smyrna's varsity

Deon Meadows starting at middle lb for Smyrna and one of the leaders in tackles (and may be the fastest player on the team)

 

You put these 2 on smyrnas freshman team behind those 2 300 pound plus tackles and it isn't even close to who is the best freshaman team, as a matter of fact I will go on record as saying add bryson/meadows and they are the best smyrna freshman team ever including the freshman class with sonny and rod

you are right 82cat...with those two freshmen on the freshmen team...smyrna would be unstopable ...i know up close and personal what they can do...i saw them beat blackman middle school to death last year...ran all over us like men among boys...i think they are still running...smile

 

but is was simply talking about the freshmen teams that are put on the field this year...not what could have been...and it seems at this point that siegel and oakland are leading the way...based on the games played so far...blackman would be next...they have yet to play siegel...lost to oakland...but crushed riverdale...and yet to play smyrna...

Siegel beat Oakland on a late double pass and a long run, but other than that Siegel's O moved the ball very little. Oakland shot themselves in the foot several times on offense and had a chance to win in the last seconds. Both teams played very physical and the game was hard fought.

 

What a wierd season this has been. Oakland beats Blackman. Blackman beats LaVergne. LaVergne beats Oakland... how's that work?

Isn't it funny Siegel has had 3 Freshman team that have been quite good, but once they get to varsity it just all falls apart?

 

Will anyone ever see that the varsity needs another coach?
