This is a former student for Ridgeland high school and a very good friend of the person who got jump by 10-12 people last Friday night!!!! And yes your start player was there!!! Marsh and number 10 for your team was also there too and many other wearing Ooltewah football and other Ooltewah clothing. So obviously they were from Ooltewah. I want to tell you they did not come to watch the game. They came to start trouble and trouble is what they caused. They taunted our crowds, cheerleaders, players; band everything about Ridgeland they taunted. And the coach has some serious issues because I would make them pay for what they did, you don?t come into someone else house and taunt, you should have respect and class for your school............well now we know what your school is made of......... thugs!!!! And what they did after the game was stupid!! Being escorted out of the game by police and one football coach and parents, they stuck around and jump an innocent man and his sister!!! I mean 10 on one and a girl what kind of bs is that!!!!!! I mean come on; my friend was just trying to take his sister home and then the next thing he knows he is being jumped by thugs!!! Ooltewah thugs!!!!!! If they say they did not do it then why did they run though our school, so if they did not do it why run????? Sounds a little fishy to me!!! But they hit a girl!!!!!! What man just hits a girl for no reason? And I hope the man that hit her gets his. They have been to the doctor all week this week. The boy suffered face damaged and a broken jaw and four teeth knocked out and his sister has a broken nose in two spots!!! All I got to say I how are you going to be a fan of this team. And support them for doing wrong. You have to be a very crazy individual not to think about this and think about what this is doing to your school and your football team. I mean these player are suppose to be role models and if you want your kid to follow that role model then go ahead!!! And your role models are thugs!!! Our school may not be the best or have the most money or have the test scores but I tell you one thing we have something that you don?t and that is PRIDE and respect and that is what makes us Ridgeland and I am proud to have played Ridgeland football but if I were an Ooltewah football player, I would hold my head down if I heard that our senior leaders and rb was involved!!!! So you need to think do you want to support thugs and have in a few years when your kids have followed their roll models and then you get a call and find out your kid is in jail if that what you want then this is the football team to support. And if you think this is funny or whatever then I think that you need to look and see what kind of person you are!!! Just imagine you getting a call on a late night and hearing someone tell you that your TWO kids have been attacked by 10 people and are on the way to the hospital!!!! Tell me how you would feel!!!! And I want to leave with a very good message that I have learned in life and it is PRIDE about youself. So go ahead a support the Owls, but just remember it is not all about winning it is about your character, and your team this year does not have it!!!! But always remember this: no matter what happens WE WILL ALWAY HAVE OUR PRIDE, REMEMBER THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are statements from the Ooltewah Message Board

Well said!! Some of the folks here on this board think the only thing important in life is football. While I know others from Ootlewah see things correctly. Whether you like it or not, the kids that play for your team and go to your school that do stuff like this, they do represent your community. They are part of your community. And let me tell you, if it were my kid, forget what the coach would do. Why do we wait to see what the coach will do. It's the parents job to raise the kids. My kid would be over at those kids house apologizing and be grounded for a very long time and trust me, he wouldn't be playing football on Friday night. He'd be on the bench thinking about his mistake. We as a football community should expect better behavior than this.

I would have alot of security at the game this week. It's too bad it has to come to that. But, judging from some of the parents on here, who think those kids did nothing wrong, you see where it comes from.

I personally will not think well of Ootlewah because of how this was handled. That's just how it is. You had a chance to show what you are about as a team, school, etc. and football took priority over character. This is how the "Michael Vick's" of the world get created.

And "Red4Life", don't bother coming here and telling us to talk only "football". This topic keeps popping up and it isn't just me. If you handle the problem, it goes away. If you don't, it festers...

Handle the problem? They have tape of the fight and everyone involved in the incident has been takin care of. What makes you think nothing has been done? The principals, coaches, and law enforcement officers from both schools sat down earlier this week, watched the tape and pointed out who the guilty were. Correct, these kids were wrong for going to Ridgeland and starting anything but you guys are taking it to another level. Why should the kids who didn't lay a hand on anyone be kicked off the team? They have video evidence and proved that these kids were innocent. I do think they should be punished for running their mouth at a football game, but not kicked off a team. Another thing, if Ooltewah players were taunting Ridgeland's players, fans, cheerleaders, dancers, etc, where were the administration or security at the game? Why didn't they do anything during the game to stop the so-called taunting? I just think this is blown way out of porportion. Especially by the former student who wrote the book about how Ooltewah is nothing but a bunch of thugs....

Yes the kids who WERE NOT involved in the fight are playing Friday night. I'm pretty sure the VIDEO gave the administration and officers enough evidence to make the decision that these kids were innocent and nothing should be done to punish these boys. I do believe the 2-3 kids who were guilty should apologize to the siblings and charges should be done. You guys are assuming way to much.... Until you know the WHOLE truth, don't make negative accusations about the situation...

Also, it seems that you have bad blood with Ooltewah for some reason. You are taking shots at the team, school, and community. This is the perfect situation to do so and your doing it. EVery post is negative. Just like this one "If the people of Ootlewah are so good, they should take care of their problem players and teach them right from wrong. "... Come on now... Please..

Boy, you really do make a fine line distinction. The kids who were there taunting are just fine , nothing needs to be done. You don't think that they were a contributing factor to all of this? I don't believe that for a second. All of them were there to start trouble, period. The ones that actually hit those kids should be prosecuted for assault and battery and hopefully their parents will have a civil suit against their parents and/or the Ootlewah school system. They"ALL" should be made to apologize!! They "ALL" should be punished!! I am not saying throw them off the team, but someone needs to care enough about these kids to show them right from wrong and I believe they should be sitting out at least one game and probably two. They need to sit their arrssess down in front of their school on the bench and think about what they did. This sets an example for the whole school and tells everyone else that Ootlewah will not tolerate this behavior. This shows that you care more about these boys then you do winning a football game.

In response to the question of whether I hate Ootlewah. I had no bad opinion of Ootlewah until now. I just knew that they had a pretty good football team, that's it.
