Coach Bennett would be disgusted with all of this!

Coacht B, as he was known to many, is still revered by all who knew him and knew of him at MBA.

Many things would be different if he was still there walking the hill.

Thank you for bringing up Coach Bennett. I needed to smile today. After we graduated, we referred to him as "John R".

Coach Bennett, Coach Owen, Mrs. Lowry, Dr. Gaffney, Dr. Neergaard, Dr. Pruitt, and Mr. Gaither, et al... what dramatic impact they had on all of our lives who were fortunate enough to have walked the Halls of the Hill with them and to have learned from them in the classroom and on the fields. I wish they could know what profound impact they have had upon our lives. It would be totally inappropriate for me to leave out the impact Coach Gentry from BA has had on my life as well. He too is an incredible man. May God Bless them all!

As for the game, MBA should pay attention to taking care of business and not read the hype about how good they may or may not be. Each young man has a responsibility and expectation to execute his assignment; if each does so, MBA should win. Ravenwood should in no way be underestimated; Williamson County as a whole has become a hotbed of talent, good coaching, and solid results. Forget that both BHS and RHS are struggling so far; they still have a lot of talent and good coaching.

Roll Red Roll!

Excellent post, although I would have added Mrs. Bowen, Coach Elliot, Mr. Caldwell and Dr. Drake. And your final paragraph is dead on. Nothing would perk up Ravenwood's season like beating an undefeated team at home.

hey, I have an idea. . .

Let's talk about the Ravenwood/MBA game. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Or, at least take this MBA vs. Ensworth vs. BA vs. Father Ryan chatter to your own thread. I'd enjoy reading the name calling and cat fighting on that one, but the last three times I've gone to this thread, I find very little discussion about the game. Just some drivel that doesn't concern at least half of the viewers of this topic. Coach Bennett, Coach Owen, Mrs. Lowry, Dr. Gaffney, Dr. Neergaard, Dr. Pruitt, and Mr. Gaither, et al while fine people in their own right, mean NOTHING to this game.

To the game. . . how is Ravenwood physically, and more importantly, how are they emotionally? It has been tough sledding getting up for so many games in a row, and at what point do you not have anything left when you go to the well?

BTW, props to Daniel Becker for ripping it up at LB for APSU!

Your additions are spot on. I am not sure how I forgot Coach E; he is still a favorite.

According to the many post opinions, MBA is the best team in TSSAA football. It should roll over Ravenwood about 76-0, any less would be an embarrassment to MBA because MBA has to keep up with Big Brother BA and Father Ryan while little brother Ensworth wants a share of the glory.

I guess Ravenwood needs to cancel this game because it stands no chance of winning while MBA and the area private school brothers are chess thumping over the success of the public schools.

Ravenwood will not shy away from playing private schools but this chess thumping is ridiculous. It should give thought for future scheduling of local private schools. If MBA, BA, Father Ryan, and little brother Ensworth are this good, they should entertain playing some of the schools in the Cincinnati area instead of these broken down local high schools football teams.

Your more seasoned MBA posters on this site will tell you that no game is a gimme, and they have the same concerns/respect for Ravenwood that they do for any previous or future opponent. It doesn't take too long to separate those with youthful exuberance from those who are aware that any opponent, especially one like RHS with a strong defense and plenty of talent, can beat you on any given night.

If you want to see real chest-thumping, visit a thread of a certain school in East Tennessee. I'm not naming any names. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Dropping a hint about the damage football equipment at Ravenwood this past weekend by persons associated with Brentwood High?

This comment is SO Ravenwoodlike. Do you have proof someone from Brentwood did this? Are you basing your accusations because of the fact Ravenwood started the vandalism first a couple of nights before the big win Brentwood had at your house.
