sooo... its homecoming week in northeast(0-5), they are not doing so well right now and the fact that its homecoming week gives them another distraction. independence(2-3) is coming off a win and is 2-3 but are better than their record, i think. soo is there anybody....ANYBODY giving northeast a chance friday.

Of course they have a chance. Anyone who takes the field has a chance to win. Bottom line though, Independence is a much better team than Northeast. I dont see this one being close. Indy wins by 4 or 5 TDs.

The way Indy's playing of late, nothing is a sure thing.

If they let NE stick around get some confidence, things could go very, very wrong.

Another must-win for the (Independence) Eagles.

This is their last real chance to iron out the issues they've been having before they enter into the heart of their region schedule, so I hope for their sake that they can win by 4-5 TDs (as they should), but a relatively close game wouldn't stun me at all.

dont know anything about independence, are they a passing or running team, and i heard their rb was something, anybody know anything on them, i know thers a centennial guy on this forum, how were they, what was their strength, trying to get a feel of what the game is going to be like. i know the eagles d played good last week against now ranked kenwood, but this is diffrent

Let's face it, Independence isn't the same team they were last year with the loss of their senior class (especially at the o-line positions and on defense if I remember correctly). However, NE is, well, not ready to compete in this region nor will they be for a long time.

My prediction is Independence over NE by a score of 35-7.

I like the prediction there, but I don't understand where you are coming from about the loss of the senior class from IHS. Yes, there were a few guys that are missed, but altogether, the seniors we lost is not the reason for the dropoff in play from last year. Our quarterback just recently dropped out of school, that had a large impact. Pettigrew has been battling injuries all year and has only gotten a chance to really blow up in one game, vs. Centennial. And the team is still adapting to the different style of Coach Eubanks. I think IHS is ready to make a run out of the district and into the playoffs with Dickson Co, Ravenwood, and Brentwood all coming up in a row after Northeast. The play will improve. They looked impressive in the homecoming game last week vs. Memphis East and are ready to step things up.

Indy in a massacre, 49-6

Pettigrew gets over 200 on the ground

So, exactly how is Indy better than their record? They'll win big on Friday but how does beating three of the worst teams in the state make them good?

what i was saying was that they played 2 pretty good teams in mba and ba at beginning of season, i mean i dont know how good they are, but i was just saying that they have some quality losses, if you beleive in that

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.

    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
