A large % of that might be a correct correct statement, but I guess we'll find out in just a few days. GV is better than you think..

I'm glad that the bulldogs are getting better. I can remember when i played we had some first round battles with them in the late 80's early 90's. They really had some good teams back then and i'm glad they have found them a good coach that can maybe build that program back up. I'm not quite ready to concede them a victory over us just yet down year or not. Don't get me wrong i think it will be a close game early but my beloved jackets will lay it on em in the fourth quarter. Jackets by 14 over the Dawgs. I hope it is injury free and a fun game to watch. Boy region 4 is gonna get interresting before this thing is thru!!!!!

Yeah, I agree. Coach Brown has the Bulldogs competing again in just his first year. Usually it takes a few years. So apparently some talent is there. The Jackets win this one. Good luck to both teams.

Brown is awesome just ask him trousdale 27 clay 7!!!!!

Sparta Boy you must really have an axe to grind. I played for Coach Brown his first year at Bledsoe (it was my Sr. year so I only played for him 1 year). We had been down for a few years prior to him coming and it took him a few years to really start winning, but a few things were certain. We were in shape, disciplined, played hard, and would hit. Coach Brown has done a good job everywhere he has been and is a class act. I have a great deal of respect and appriciation for he and his wife. My name gives who I am away to the folks around Bledsoe County, but since people on this thread don't know (or care) who I am my name is Eric Swafford (not that it matters any I just don't like to see people bash others and not tell who they are...that is just me). Good luck Clay County this Friday and the rest of the way through. Go get 'um coach!

    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
