Thanks mackie!

Man, does "mackie" know his stuff or what !!! , But alas the all insightful "SWAMI" has return to make his final regular season picks for Fridays games. Swami sees White County storming into Blackman and returning back to Sparta with a big 16 point road victory. Oakland will come into my house, but will find that Weir and Weitzel are more than ready for them, however their heroics will be in vain as Oakland wins this one by 7. Lebanon will get their ship in order, and will beat Cookeville at home by 5. And finally, Siegel will beat dangerous Riverdale by 6. The "swami" has spoken, and you can now seed all the teams for tourney action!!!!

Blackman wins 80-60

I didn't see it, but the radio announcers said this is the worst officiated game they have ever seen. Anybody that was there have any further info as to just how bad it was? 6 WC players fouled out.

Total fouls...WC 31 fouls against. blackman 12 fouls against them. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Congrats to White County. The season is over and White county is the #1 seed. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

First off Huge Huge congratulations to my Blackman Blaze and Alex Carter for his new single game point record- 42 points!

As for the officiating, everyone is going to say something different. I thought that the majority of the fouls against WC were charges. The guards were using the forearm and some of them were obvious charges while others were touchy fouls.

THERE IS ONE THING THAT I FOUND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE IN THIS GAME! No offense to any White County fan, but at the end of the game with less than a minute to go BHS led by about 15 and WC was fouling. This was when the game turned ugly. The WC coach got a technical and the WC fans cheered with obvious sarcasm. Now if you are not happy with the officiating that is one thing, but when a player is clothes-lined once and the shoved into the bleachers, a fan SHOULD NEVER I REPEAT NEVER CHEER!!!!!!! Alex Carter could have been seriously injured by these flagrant fouls and there is absolutely no reason for any fan to cheer about a very violent foul!

And in a little bit of humor, I appreciate the WC fans chanting we're #1 to the BHS student section. Congratulations, but tonight we came out on top 80-60, and I hope we meet again in District so we can have the opportunity to return the chant!

Go Blaze good luck in district!

No offense but every time I think ive heard White County lose the last few seasons ive heard that from the announcers, I really liked the ones before these guys, didnt try to make excuses just called the game as they saw it. Congrats to Blackman, on the surface this may not mean much, but it gives them some momentum going into the district tourney.

This district is crazy!! Looks like what happened to Siegel ( Warren County beating them) happened to yall.....but congrats on winning the title.

Oakland beats Warren County tonight 65-48 in a game that was much closer than the score. Warren led by 3 at the half, and by two, 41-39 after three periods, but couldn't handle oaklands pressure in the 4th qt. , with Oakland outscoring Warren 26-7 in the fourth. Chris Weitzel led Warren with 23 points.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
