bigbigguy
so whats the wors about ryan wrestling?
wosbodog
I'd say they're generally considered the top team in division II. They definitely return the most medalists. Some say Baylor could be better.
MWR
I think they will be if they stay healthy and all their studs are able to get down to their weights. they have a lot of starters returning with a ton of experience.
wosbodog
This is probably Ryan's best season in the last 4 years. On an average year wouldn't you say it goes Baylor 1st, McCallie 2nd, Ryan 3rd, MBA 4th, Christian Brothers 5th? Besides for Brentwood Academy's recent rise to powerhouse status. WrestlingLover
Might be Father Ryan's year if they stay healthy, and have the drive and desire. There are many right there together like Ryan, Baylor, McCallie, and there are always surprises.
MWR
Well not every program can recruit kids from other states like certain school that will remain nameless. So it must be a bummer for some schools that have to achieve success with the kids they're given. Father Ryan will definitely be the favorite. they have about 8 seniors with a lot of experience who have been wrestling together since middle school days along with a couple juniors who placed in last year's state. CoachBray
I would say that Father Ryan's team will be good enough to bring Irishdad out of retirement. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
RMC
Well not every program can recruit kids from other states like certain school that will remain nameless. Does Father Ryan have boarding students?
WrestlingLover
Father Ryan is not a boarding school, and I'm guessing MWR wasn't referring to them about recruiting. I saw many of these kids wrestle for the Nash Cath group in middle school, and no doubt those fundamentals and mat time have helped them become strong wrestlers. Dragon Fly
How come Ryan doesn't come to Memphis anymore? With the rise of the St. Benedict program and CBHS being one of the top programs each year, I am surprised they don't come down here anymore. wristbar
I would wager that Father Ryan and many other schools would be willing to make the Memphis trip if Memphis area officials get on the same page as the rest of the state.
