SPLITBACK
That's not a choice they have. Classification is determined by enrollment. There enrollment as of now is 933 according to the TSSAA website. There at least 20 teams with a larger enrollment playing in 3A ..... You had a better record year in and year out in 3A !!! The actual number is over 1200 and I think with 12 to 15 people applying for a job at a school that has won one game in 2 season, in this district, thats a pretty good number. lcfootball
any word on interviews lcfootball? I've heard they have talked to a couple of people, but I don't know who they are. School gets out the 19th, I've been told (unconfirmed) that Coach White will be leaving after school gets out to move on to his new position at Maryville. I figure interviews will pick up now that the playoffs and championship games are over. I don't know how the interview process for coaches work, but if it wouldn't hurt your chances, give AD Janet McGee a call during the day (8-3:30 Eastern Time) (865) 986-2072 she can tell you what going on. Good Luck!

lcfootball
What position did Coach White take at Maryville ? All I heard was assist coach, and I wouldn't swear to that in a court of law. Has anyone heard of any of the assistants leaving Maryville for other postions? That would narrow it down. 643-dp
How many people have interviewed? What is their timeline for naming a coach? Any names or rumors floating around? What does it take to be successful at Lenoir City?
lcfootball
643-dp... "How many people have interviewed?" Don't know. I heard a couple so far, but also heard 10 or 12 applied. What is their timeline for naming a coach? Guessing the first of the year, but just a guess. "Any names or rumors floating around?" Not a one (wish we would hear one!) "What does it take to be successful at Lenoir City?" Thats been the subject of lots of discussions on here. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
Pantherman85
How many people have interviewed? What is their timeline for naming a coach? Any names or rumors floating around? What does it take to be successful at Lenoir City? In my opinion, I would answer this by asking, "what does it take to be successful at any high school program?" Lenoir City is not any different than anywhere else. THe talent pool may be different than say Fulton, Maryville, Central, Alcoa, but I think a GOOD coach can be successful anywhere if they instill discipline and know how to coach 16-18 year old kids. THis community is hungry for a winning football program. Looks like a great opportunity for the right person if you ask me.
GREYRIDER
Coach White will be taking over the defensive secondary duties as well as others... Coach Pinkerton was promoted to vice principal and has to give up his coaching position (TSSAA rules). No other changes in the REBEL ranks expected. There is no such rule in the TSSAA that prohibits principals or vice principals from coaching. This, however, maybe a local rule.
