First off being a carrer back up as you call it is a good paying job now. And I cant recall any "Maryville Rebel" that even made it to the NFL to be a third string or water-boy. And as for a second rate commentator? Lets hear from a parent on your team.....oh wait they didn't do anything in the nfl either......just like there kids!!!!!

Don't knock what you can't do!!!

...ummmmm....there is one former Red Rebel players' parent that wuz a H2O boy for Coach Lombardi in 1960 and NY Giants in '69 & '70.

....DE Smith's dad play in the NFL??

I really wouldn't be suprised by the outcome of this game no matter what happens, is it true they (maryville fans) are trying to do some kind of blackout

yes-i was forwarded an email yesterday calling for the "blackout". it should be pretty cool-east tn version of the "black hole"-i just hope murvil doesn't play like the raiders-holler

QB Ryan was a part time starter and had a very good year in 84' He is from Kansas and did not play HS FB in Tennessee...

You are sort of correct Emeritus. I said he came from OK. You said he was born in KS. We are both right. Here is the scoop on ol' #10 for the Jets:

Patrick Lee Ryan

Position: QB

Height: 6' 3'' Weight: 208

Born: 9/16/1955, in Hutchinson, KS, USA

High School: Putnam (Oklahoma City, OK)

College: University of Tennessee

The High School is actually called Putnam City High School. Putnam City Schools now have three high schools. Putnam City High (Pirates), PC West (Patriots), PC North (Panthers). They are all in Oklahoma City and there is no town called Putnam City.

I still think where you went to high school is what most people consider their "hometown.

My youngest just happened to be born in OK but she doesn't remember it. Which sounds like an old Three Dog Night tune:

Well I never been to Heaven

But I been to Oklahoma

Well they tell me I was born there

But I really don't remember

In Oklahoma, not Arizona

What does it matter, what does it matter

This song was written by the late-great Hoyt Axton...who was also born in OK. Which again brings my post full circle.

It is also good to see a rare appearance by TNNITEHAWK.

Red Rebulls, that iz a good Oklahoma song...But my favorite is Merle's 'Okie from Muskogee'....I like places were they "don't take their trips on LSD"..."Old Glory still waves down at the court house"...and the best part...."Football's still the roughest thang on campus".......... and "squares can have a ball"..../thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

papa he guessed mid fifties after you told him you are a william blount grad? and he talks in 3rd person, not one i'd want to take a football class from. great stats i just believe they might be a little skewed with GQ's unwillingness to embarass anyone. we all know there are a lot of teams that MHS could have named the score on.

Agree on all counts. Math is clearly not his strong suit...I knew there was a reason he didn't appreciate my stats...

.....Maryville....until someone knocks them off!

I know how to jump on a wagon when I see one.

Okay ladies and gents....the DL has a message to the posters on this message board....unless you can raise your comments to the DL's level, please do not post. It's tough being very successful and knowledgable sometimes, but the DL gets labeled as 'that smart kid, teacher's pet' from class. Yes, the DL is an over-achiever, no doubt about it. Do many people have the DL's knowledge? No. Please use me as a resource rather than hate the top dog so to speak. I hate to be so blunt, but that's the DL my friends.
