This will be tough ball for both teams. mTp & Casacde will have to come with there "A" game. This along with the Lewis Co & Hickman Co should be two of the best second round match ups. I am going with mTp, but I will say neither team will by more than 18 points. I say it will be close down to the end.

Whenever you decide to get that lazy rear end out of bed, Youngtiger, I'd like to hear your take on the game last night... Did McEwen play a good game last night, or was M.P. just shooting themselves in the foot? That game was closer than I was expecting.

Also, what do you think will be the determining factors in our game on Friday? Where are the matchup problems going to be for both teams? I'm looking forward to watching my first game in The Jungle. Everyone says it is a great Football experience. Make sure you and 88 hollar at us Friday. I'm going to try and get there early and join you guys for some tailgating.. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

My post on McEwen/MP thread gives a good synopsis of the game. I hope. Check it out. That was the sloppiest game I have ever seen MP play and I've been watching since I was like 5.

The atmosphere at the Jungle is great when the fans don't act crazy. Cascade 11, watch film on McEwen and tell me what you think of Daily. 325 yards and 3tds on a D that Cascade only scored 17pts on. I think he's a gifted athlete, but the MP coaching staff drives me nuts (kinda like when I played).

I think this will be a great game, if MP doesn't turn the ball over and plays with some heart!!!! I think MP has more speed than Cascade, but Cascade is more fundamentally sound and disciplined. #74 on the defensive line is 6-5lbs 300lbs and he blows up plays in the backfield in t running. A freshman, just a pup, but already a hoss. MP has a ton of good football players and so does Cascade. I think MP is much more explosive, but Cascade is more balanced, more consistent, and there's a lot to be said for that type of play. Should be a great game. Two different styles.

Thanks for the info. I would caution against making common opponent comparisons. Not only are the opponents different from when each team played them (McEwen's starting QB is out with a broken leg.), but our individual teams are different. I can safely say, the team that only beat McEwen 17-14 will not be the team that shows up next week. I'm sure you would say the same thing about the team that got beat by Moore County last week. Bottom line, these are high school kids and you shouldn't read too much into what they do in any given game. Look at the season as a whole and you'll get a better picture. I hope MP is at full strength next week. We've still got a couple of kids banged up, but were getting more healthy. One of our starting linebackers has some lingering injuries and another one didn't see the field a lot last night after getting released the day before. I think he was held out more for precaution than anything, but should be on the field more next week. I'd like to see both teams at full strength next week so we truly can see how they matchup.

This is going to be a good one!

Pred, if you come next week, you better put a leash on the youngun'. I started to pick up another kid I thought was him when he went missing and that kid's mother was not a happy camper. There were too many 3 year old blonde headed kids running around last night. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

Man, I didn't know you started a thread on our game when I started this one. I ask Rob to move yours over into this one, so we only have one thread on this game. I hope you don't mind. I just like having the poll option so you can get a better idea of how the general population feels the game will come out. More often than not, the poll results have been accurate this season. We'll have to see what happens with this one..

Its no problem at all man, I would have started a poll had I thought about it. It was late and I am just excited about this match-up as well as a few others and I wanted to see what some peoples take on this game was.

I can tell I will NOT be able to be on coach t this week. Whoever said that ANYBODY plays with more heart than MP has rocks in his head. How many injuries have we had to deal with this year??? We had FOUR starters out last night, and it seems like we've had at least one person hurt for every game this year, but somebody has always stepped up. Cascade is obviously a great team and I don't know what all they've had to deal with and I take nothing away from their success, but we have had less than ideal conditions to work with this year and have still made it to the second round, for pete's sake! This is probably just the mama in me taking it too personally but statements like that make me sick. Cascade 11, I look forward to seeing you and anyone else that comes by the tailgate.

Go Tigers!

(I wanted to add that my predictions were correct!)

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
