Looks like # 2 is good enough for Ind fans. Agains Bearden made it a game and Ind didn't! Bottom line!

Congrats to Smyrna!

 

Just wondering who the Smyrna fans thought gave them the biggest scare in the playoffs? We know it wasn't Ind!

He is right about Bearden too.... having played against both teams Bearden and wilson central and riverdale where far better than Independence but just got unlucky by being on our side of the bracket.

No offense, but if they were that good they would have found a way to be there. Indy found a way to be there. Played horrible the first half, but they were there and deserved to be.

 

This thread is about Smyrna vs Indy. Have some class and quit the crybaby bit about who you guys think should have been there. If they should of been, then they would have been. Its called playoffs and its called wins. The teams you mentioned didnt have them at the right time. Period.

 

Go start another thread about who you think Smyrna really should have been playing Saturday. The topic for this one is already set.

A team can better than another and not make it to state championship game. I do not think anyone said those teams were better than Smyrna.. just that they were better than Indy. If a team isn't better than Smyrna how are they going to make it to the championship game when they are on the same side of the bracket. Face it Indy is not good. Yes they got 2nd in the state, but only because they a had a far easier road to get there and it showed in the title game.

You saying that Indy is not good shows your lack of respect for the state runners up, your lack of overall knowledge, and your biased opinion. Indy beat Franklin and Millington both of which would play a close game with Bearden. Face it Indy is good otherwise they wouldnt have made it farther than everyone except Smyrna and all that happened was that Indy started out nervous and Smyrna started out with a bang. Give Smyrna a 3 TD lead and they will win 99% of the time.

You are an idiot, I am not an Independence fan, nor a symrna fan, but a football fan and to say that a team is not good, well, they must be, they played in the championship game, what ever team you think is better, well my guess is, at some point you probably said, they just did not play well tonight and any fool that will determine a team not being good based on one performance is probably in a mess of sour grapes.

The last 2 years the best Playoff game has been the game prior to the 5A Championship game. The East Tn Teams gave Smyrna all they wanted. The boys from Brentwood area got spanked both years in the Championship game.

 

The best teams do not always meet in the Championship game. I'm not the only one who knows this. Go read who Alcoa felt like they should have been playing in the Championship game. It wasn't Goodpasture but a team they faced on their side of the bracket.

Whoever you support got beat, unless you are pulling for Smyrna. Which if you are, you are cheapening their accomplisment by saying the beat a "not good" team to win the state shampionship.

 

The two best teams played Saturday. Everyone else that is saying otherwise are a bunch of crybabies and showing why your team DID NOT play Saturday.

 

Crybabies are the easiest to beat. Smash em in the mouth and they cry the rest of the game and dont play worth a lick.

Of all the teams you mentioned in your post, only Independence had the courage to schedule MBA. Yes, they lost to them, but they still PLAYED them. Congrats to Smyrna for winning their division. Unfortunately, the Poo Bahs at the TSSAA don't provide a means for the 5A champ to play the D-II champ, which would provide a true state champion.

 

TSSAA will never play a D-I vs D-II championship because D-II schools recruit what needs to happen is they need to change the way the playoffs are played.You should'nt have to play people that you have already played that is retatrted.they should pair off seperate regions that way no one has an easy road.Congrats Smyrna on your championship and Go Millington Trojans!
