I played against most of the teams and Bearden should be right after Wilson Central and Indy is not that good.

1 MBA

2 BA

3 Smyrna

4 Maryville could very easily go with Maryville three and Smyrna 4 (very close i think)

5 Wilson Central

6 Alcoa

7 Riverdale

8 Lipscomb

9 South Pitt

10 not sure amybe Farragut or even fulton or Maplewood aint to bad either

MBA

Riverdale

Smyrna

BA

Wilson Central

Maryville

Bearden

Not really sure after that....

MBA is better than the next four, which you could put in just about any order. I do think those four would handle the two teams from the East. Right now, football in Middle Tennessee is pretty strong. Not sure about the West but Indy beat their best in the semis and Indy isn't that strong.

Maybe Indy, Farragut, and WB filling out the top ten.

Who knows who would win an MBA-MHS game? But, I think Maryville would have a fighting chance based on a common opponent they have had--Hillsboro. In the 2006 Blue Cross Bowl, Maryville led 21-3 at half and easily won 35-10, outgaining the Boros 388 to 158 in total yards. In a September 2007 match-up between MBA and Hillsboro, the Boros led 12-3 at half before giving up 14 points in the second half and losing 17-12. MBA won the total yardage also, 278-260. It would be interesting to get the perspective of Hillsboro coaches/players re how the two would match-up. I think it would be a great game but I would not bet against GQ.

Here's mine

1. Maryville - 15-0(nuff said)

2. MBA

3. Alcoa

4. Smyrna

5. Farragut

6. William Blount

7. Brentwood Academy

8. South Pittsburg

9. Lipscomb

10t. Sullivan South

10t. Fulton

I like this one.

As far as Middle handeling the teams from the east the Number of Champions from East TN out weigh Middle over the last two years. also the only two teams to give Smyrna a game in the playoffs were Bearden 07 and Olootewah 06 both games decided by 3 points. the teams from the Brentwood area were spanked both years in the finals.

Here is the Rivals list of State Champs.

I don't see a MBA or BA on that list.

Tennessee

Class 5A - Smyrna def. Independence 46-20

Class 4A - Maryville def. Maplewood 28-13 E TN dominated

Class 3A - David Lipscomb def. Knxville Fulton 32-24 Colud easly been Fulton instead they beat themselfs.

Class 2A - Alcoa def. Goodpasture 35-3 E TN

domination

Class 1A - South Pittsburg def. McKenzie 52-20 E TN Domination

D-II state Champs not listed on Yahoo Rival's football site.

MBA is about equal to Goodpasture or Libscomb from looking at common opponets.

So Maryville would have crushed MBA.

Goodpasture beat Ravenwood 22-21

MBA beat Ravenwood 31-28

Goodpasture beat JPII 63-21

MBA same 56-14

We all saw what Alcao did to Goodpasture 35-3 and what Maryville did to Alcoa.

Want more;

MBA beat Hillsboro- 17-12 Close game less than 1 TD

Maplewood beat H'boro 17-18 close game, less than 1 TD

Maryville vs Maplewood 28-13 More than 1 TD

My list now that I went back and looked at common teams:

1. Maryville - 15-0(nuff said)

2. Alcoa

3. Smyrna

4. Bearden

5. Farragut

6. William Blount

7. Lipscomb

8. Reg 5A Team WC or Riverdale

9. Fulton

10t. MBA

10t. Goodpasture

Didn't MBA loose to McCallie last year? If I remember correctly Alcoa beat that Same McCallie in 06 and 05.

Yeah Maryville beat Alcoa in 06 and 05!!

Nuff Said!

I really can't see MBA winning against a Maryville. Good Game but through a real playoff (not D-II) MBA goes down. Yes I know BA did it in the good old days!

Rigger101 you just lost your right to post.

If you want to play the common opponent game then didn't Maryvill lose (I mean win by 1) against a very average William Blount?

That means Maryville wouldn't even be in the top 10.
