I hear that Cascade has another top pitcher in their junior lefty Josh Brown, I have seen recently in the local paper that he has pitched NO WAlKs in 7 innings against Forrest and a NO Hitter against Eagleville. Folks say that he may have the best control of any pitcher around. Mix this with MOMO and it could spell trouble for their opponents.

In the Riverdale Tournament, Jared Davis from USJ had a good showing against a solid Goodpasture team. He showed a lot of poise and pitched strong for 7 innings but fell short 2-1. Clayton Gant pretty much dominated Oakland in the 4 innings he threw against them. One mistake (an inside change up) was delivered to Dodd and he rode it for a 2 run homer. Otherwise, Gant had 7 K's in the 4 innings they played and the score 5-2 USJ. Overbey and Fesmire had good outtings with wins against Tullahoma and BGA.

Lets set the record straight. When someone throw's 93 one time that dosen't mean he can throw 93 all the time. I was at the East Coast tryout's in Dayton Ohio. Sat behind Kentucky, L'ville and the Dayton coaches. I saw over fifty pitcher's throw that day none were over 91. Seth Lintz for marshall co. someone say's throw's 92 or 93. I'm sorry the highest he got was 89. Stem from DCA has hit 93 before but most of the time 90 or 91. Sonny Gray for smyrna may have hit 97 before I've seen him throw he's around 93'94 most of the time. I'm not knocking anyone, It amazing how these kid's can throw a ball at such a young age. I can assure you I wouldn't want to hit against them. That's just my thought's.

I see a great deal of discussion on speed but who has the best change up? I have talked to people that have pitched at the major league level and to coaches at the college level who say the change up is a pitch that is not developed enough at young ages. The belief seems to be that the curve ball is overused and the change up is not used enough. Thoughts?

You're right, they don't sit at their highest recorded speed, but Gray, Clinard and Lintz due maintain consistently high speeds. I've seen Gray throw and he's usually 92-95, I've seen Lintz throw and this year he's been 90-92. It's nice that middle Tenn. has the talent it has.

    • Well personally I see us going 9-1 so that isn't doom and gloom to me , Most people are thinking 6-4. Bearden will be the possible loss but hoping not. I was very impressed with what I saw this spring.
    • the kid you are speaking about, played in JV games,  2H half Science Hill game, split time in Hardin Valley and Bearden and that was it.   The upcoming Senior RB was All Region as a Junior and is regarded by the media as one of the top running backs in East TN for 2024 season. Scouting services have him as a top 10 back in the state.  Something aint adding up with gloom and doom. Maybe he was hurt and not at spring practice when you watched?
    • It won't be long now, he gone.
    • Are you kidding me?  You are just trolling now.  The new head coach's qualifications would be volunteer coach at the Oak Ridge Boys Club?  C'mon man, you can't be serious.  You're trolling us.  Anybody working at Clinton High School has to be like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs at this point.  They are coming after anybody and everybody that had knowledge of what was going on.  This is about to get real ugly.  Only in Clinton.
    • So no way they can compete with the likes of McCallie or Baylor still then
