I have seen all three of these guys play but John Jenkins is best player on this list. He can do it all shoots as good as Justin Blake an Chris Reeves but does a lot more for his team.

I can tell you that Justin Blake is no longer just a scorer. He does all the little things for a TEAM that has eclipsed the century mark at least 4 times against some good competition. He doesn't have to do all the scoring. Also he is flanked by 5 more players that average double digits in points. Now THAT'S making his team better. Sure he doesn't average 30 pts. But he doesn't have to. If he played for anyone else he could easily be the top per game scorer in AA in the state. I'm probably one of the few that have seen both play this year. Blake is the more rounded player as a whole. But Jenkins is one heck of a player too, there's no denying that. Both would be very deserving.

Took a three win team to District champs, regional champs, sub-state champs and to state in one year.

Took a new team that team was not the same team that had won three games. However I feel like he will give AA Mr. Basketball a run. The only other Choctaw I think that has ever been up is Brian Fisk. Fisk could guard just about anybody.

I think the Junior from Clarkrange High School, Brandon Upchurch, should have a shot at Mr. Basketball. I am not sure what all you look for in a canidate but he has been a leader on his High School team for the last two and a half years. He has 1,500+ point in his career and shoots and average of 85% both from the free thow line and the three point line. He can also drive to the goal.

Brandon plays point guard and forward he is very versital.

Brandon averages 20 points per games, 3 assits, and 5 rebounds.

Brandon also has several awards:

Freshman MVP of the district as well as 3rd Team All-District his Freshman year and All-Upper Cumberland Freshman Team.

His Sphomore year he made 1st Team All-Distric as well as 1st Team All-Upper Cumberland.

He has severl three-point and free-throw awards as well.

His academics show him with a 3.98 which is remarkable for any athlete in any sport.

Most Single A Schools get over looked for Mr. Basketball canidates because the do not have the talent or the winning records as the AA or AAA schools have.

I would like for you to take a look at this Single A student and his records and abilities, and consider him and his achievements for this award.

All Single A Schools are supposed to be considered, however, Schools the size of this boy's which hold only about what 250-260 kids, usually get over looked.

I have watched this kid play and I think he has the most potential of any kid I have watched in years. If you are looking for a player with potential as a candidate for Mr. Basketball then this kid should at least be one of them.

I have noticed in the Tennessean over the last two years that he was in the top 5 in three-point shooters in the state and all of the teams games were never even reported, and I am pretty sure he was the leading three=point shooter in his District both years. That is saying alot for a Freshman and a Sophomore. I think he even ended up in the top ten in the over all scorers as well both years.

I don't know if you talk to the coaches when trying to pick your candidates but I bet he has just gotten better this year, I haven't got to watch this kid like I have some others but he is as good has alot of you AA and AAA players from the larger schools and I think someone told me he wants to go on and try to play College Basketball if he gets the chance.

The Herald-Citzen this past week shows him with an averge of 20.9 points per game and 7.9 rebounds. Not bad stats if you ask me. I would think he deserves looking at.

Marcus Jefferson - LaVergne High School needs to be considered for AAA

He is avg. 21 ppg, 8 rpg, 4.5 apg

LHS is 21-4, playing a very tough schedule (including finishing third in the Huntsville Times Classic -- one of the premier prep tournaments in the South) (Jefferson was a unanimous All-Tournament team selection)

My other two votes would be for Drew Kelly, and Rashawn Walker

AMEN.....and besides mario's stats and awards hes a genuinely good kid...what needs to be understood about demario is he hasnt always had the talent level that the other guys have played with...mario has taken this team farther in the tournament every year hes been here...bringing us to our first region title...first substate title...first state appearance...and first state tourney game win...i see no reason he wont go farther this year...mario's a great kid who puts up numbers all the way across the board...it would just be a crime not to vote for Mr. Williams /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Demario is a team player...no showboat. He is not a ball hog, is constantly setting the other players up to score. He is also near 2000 points career total while playing in his unselfish style. He is not arrogant nor a poor sport. He attends a K-12 school where he is a model for all age children to look up to- a very good one! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
