After what we experienced at LA in 2005, I can imagine how you felt! Going to the championship game and then following the team bus back to LA after the game was something I will never forget!! You guys may have a shot at that this year. Came close last year! Good luck---after Friday night!

No, they don't have a shot at it. Alcoa is in 2A still. And IF York were to make it that far, they would host Alcoa in the semi-finals. which would be the end of the road for sure.

I do think LA can win, hoping for it of course. YAI might not have lost much, but they were better last year IMO.

Finally someone that is being realistic. I don't see anyone standing toe to toe with Alcoa in 2A. Just keeping it real. I love my team just as all of us do, but Alcoa just has too much talent.

Scofield I played against the Dragons and we won 3 out of 4.

1971 LA won 17 to 0

1972 York won 28 to 14.....Dragons went 10 and 0 that year...IMO one of the best teams or the best at York

1973 LA won 26 to 0

1974 LA won 47 to 18

1975 I don't think LA and York played for some unknown reason

1976 LA went 8 and 2 losing only to Hartsville and Brentwood Academy they beat York but don't know the score

1977 NEED SOME HELP OCF

1978

1979

1980 I think York won 44 to 6

Glad to see that they're using that state money for athletics because it's not being used in english class.

Did you mean "English". I believe in every form that the word English has a capital letter. I am just a dumb ole' jock and knew that. You was just checking to see if anyone would catch that. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

big game for both teams, and this is one of those games where records mean nothing. whats your thoughts and predictions?

Ok.....I'm going to spell this out for you all. What it all comes down to is that York has a proven program in place now that was started some 8 years ago. Since the implementation of youth football in fentress co., we've seen steady progress every year. That's where all of this recent success has come from. York can finally be competitive with just about anyone they line up against. The players aren't necessarily bigger or stronger, but they have been taught the fundamentals of football from a young age, instead of trying to, many times, pick it up when they get to high school. Fentress Co. has always possessed the same talent as all of these other schools, it's just that now they have their talent harnessed.

1976--we were 8-3. You forgot about the whipping we took in the Industrial bowl against Greenbrier 35-6. We beat York 13-6.

1981--McCoin lit them up for 446 yards passing and 6 TD's but I don't know the score.

I pretty much go blank after that for about 20 years!

Interesting name you have for someone who is pretending to know so much about Fentress Co. football. The Pee Wee league was started either 12 or 13 years ago and Crush has been playing on and off for longer than that. I do agree that the programs have helped the HS team, but I also feel that last years and this years teams have more talent than we usually have.

I don't know for sure which year it was, but YAI beat Livingston twice in the same year in the early 80's. I think it was McCoin's Senior year.

Why do we always go back in time on a YAI and LA thread?

My prediction for this game --YORK 35 LA 7

GO DRAGONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

heavy, believe your prediction is pretty close. In most years, the records can be thrown out. I don't think is one of those years. If Livingston scores it will probably be after York has the game in control. York seems to be pretty good and Livingston is struggling with some kids leaving the team. Guess we will see Friday night.

Wonder what DaCoach has in mind for his Bees when they get the living daylights beat out of them by Smith-DeKalb-Cannon and the Dragons ???? I guess he will need to get on Madden and find some new plays /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Cannon County too? I think LA has a chance. Monterey stopped their wing T, but we couldn't answer their spread offence. Good luck to the Wildcats.
