Gallatin vs Antioch

Gallatin had a tough go versus Smyrna, but somthing tells me that Antioch's D isn't on the same level as Smyrna's. Gallatin MUST hold its own on the D-line. Last week Smyrna's O line killed them all night. Lets hope the offense can stay on the field for more than 5 minutes this Friday.

I will take Gallatin in a high scoring affair.

I agree the offense has to stay on the field more than last week. The defense is gonna be tested by Davis and the big play wide recievers. If they can stiffen up and make a play then we have a good chance, if not Antioch will make you pay. Coverage on the kicking game is a must and we can ill afford any messups in the return game. Lots to be learned from last week and I can't wait to get back at it.

Gallatin wins 47-21. Antioch came out fighting in the first quarter then failed to keep up with the Wave for the rest of the game. Gallatin's offense looked good and the defense kept Davis pinned up after some big gains early. Good coverage down field really helped the Wave tonight. Holder got back on track with some huge gains and Matthews broke loose a few times as well. Besides a few mistakes on route running the passing game was on track too. Great win Gallatin. Got to enjoy knocking off another metro school. Antioch's only threat was Davis and he looked like he got tired after the 1st quarter. He wasn't too fond of taking a lick either. Glad to be done playing in the same region with the Bears. Lots of athletes but only one legit win over Gallatin in the series. Bye Bye Antioch.

Sidenote: Antioch's PA guy is terrible. Somebody needs to tell him all we need is down and distance and who made the run and who tackled the ballcarrier. The rest is just ridiculous comments that we don't care about. It was very annoying.

Any news on the condition of TD. He went down late in the 4th on a wicked gang tackle. Looked like he may have hurt his shoulder or arm hard to tell from across the way.

Way to go Gallatin, was really impressed with the effort tonight. Loved how the D played to contain TD instead of going after him. Great coverage by the Db's. Still need to work on the punt returns. Great job on the punt block.

In defense, that is not the normal PA guy, he was a fill in , I don't know where the normal guy was, but the PA did make a lot of unnecessary comments. Have to give Gallatin their props, they took Antioch to the woodshed. Great adjustment moving #5 over on Gleaves after he abused #1 for two long receptions. Shutting down Gleaves and Davis did the Bears in, because there was no running game. One thing of note, Gallatin had over 500 yds of offense, with over 400 on the ground.

Davis is a very exciting player to watch hopefully he has decent enough grades to go to some small college. I think he would be a terrific kick returner. He definitely gets my vote for offensive MVP of the league out of everybody I have seen so far. He just needs some help. A halfway decent running game would get ya'll at least 2 or 3 more wins as well. Antioch's concession stand is still the best I have been to in awhile. Whoever is in charge of it needs to get some props.

I'm sorry, I have to take offense to the "decent enough grades" and "some small college." TD is an excellent student that is being recruited by most of your larger schools, including most of the schools in the area. All you see him as is a KR. Though I doubt he will play QB, he would be good in a variety of positions, including TB, WR, or DB.

Thats great, I hope he is an excellent student. Reason I said "small college" was due to his size. While decent nothing that stood out from the crowd. I am not sure if 5-10 is even accurate, he looked smaller on the field. He is definitely not a tailback. He could be a wideout or a flanker with his quickness. I will agree with DB. But yeah, I can see him as a punt or kick returner for sure. We will see about D-I though. I would not say he has a better chance than Coker, Brown or Bradford. Even though 2 of those were D-I. Hopefully I will get to see him on Saturdays...at any level.

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
