Centennial vs. Ravenwood

Allowing only an average of 55 yards through the air is a big stat for the CHS D, especially when you look at some of the QBs they've faced this year. One thing I've noticed about the CHS secondary is they rarely seem to get beat deep. The speed of guys the DBs makes it incredibly difficult for opposing wideouts to get separation. The most effective passes I've seen against the secondary have been timing routes and screens. Rector will have to keep that in mind, because 1 on 1 will not get it done against this secondary.

 

 

Ravenwood's QB can't make 1 on 1 throws down the field against their secondary anyways. He will be throwing screens, TB flares, and short passes. However I say that to say he will do enough to get his team the victory. Raptors in a close one 28-24.

Not alot of talk for this big game. So I'll ask this; can the Ravenwood defense handle the high-powered Centennial offense?

I finally got a chance to watch the Centennial-Dickson game, and the Centennial offense was just up and down the field (so was Dickson's, of course).

 

If either Chaz or Tony can get to the outside, they will get big yards all night. I didn't see an awful lot of plays inside the tackles, but who knows.

1: Balanced attack: Keep going with what got you here. Regardless of who they've played, Centennial has shown they have one of the most explosive offenses in the region. Keep giving it to Tony and Raymond (who should be back for this game) and then allow Chaz to open it up some some draws and passes.

 

2: Strong secondary play- Centennial boasts a very strong secondary, and they will get a big test against a balanced Ravenwood attack. With the run-defense still questionable, it is important that the secondary wins the battle through the air. Take away the pass, and that may help the defense key in on the run a little more.

 

3: No mistakes: In a big region game like this, the game is often decided by what team makes fewer mistakes. Play smart football; no bad passes, no fumbles, no stupid penalties. Its these kind of mistakes that can often shift momentum in a game.

 

 

Apparently its a "white-out" game at CHS, so hopefully the fans will be there in full force and stay loud the whole game. Remember, one game at a time, anything can happen at this time of year.
