sorry but im not to sure you know exactly what your talkin about i think harpeth and sycamore will be a good game but sycamore will come out with the W both games

I'll go with:

1. Harpeth

2. Creekwood

3. Sycamore

4. Waverly

5. Stewart County

6. Fairview

7. Cheatham

8. Montgomery Central

Waverly came the furthest last year and they might deserve to be ranked higher. I love their guard play. I like Creekwood's big man and they have some depth. Sycamore's loss of Mitchell is probably the biggest hole in anybody's roster to fill. Harpeth graduated 7 and picked up a jr. transfer. They've got potential depth issues.

Harpeth vs Sycamore will be all about the matchups. Caruthers and Dempsey will get their points so it will come down to execution on offense and intensity on defense. Overall, I think Harpeth has more scoring threats than Sycamore. Aside from Dempsey, Staggs and Kilgore are the other two for Sycamore, and Froedden can get the hot hand from time to time as can Hoard. For Harpeth, Horkins has yet to light it up but capable of dropping 20 plus if he cranks it up, and if Jones gets it going inside he will be another double digit threat in the post. Dansby and Crowe are the other two elements and each capable of having big games with Crowe knocking down the 3s. Off the bench for Harpeth is McMullin who can also get a hot hand and put up points and Turner can do the same. IMO Harpeth takes this one on the War Eagle home court if they play the Wilson brand of "D" and bring the energy.

SC beat MC by 30 the first game and they beat CCCHS by 15. They lost to HC by 12 and they had one of their best players in boone smith out 3 quarters of the game becuz he had jus got out of the hospital and was still pretty weak.

Did SC have anybody out last night 12/1 in Houston County, when HC put it on them. Where was the 11AA MVP we have heard about. You may have seen the 10A MVP-Dillard with 38 points. Didnt Waverly just beat HC. It might not look so good for SC after all. SC fans need to be realistic, they will finish near the bottom of the district. They will be lucky if they beat Mont. Central. MC played HC a close game.Foul trouble is what hurt MC.

I think Harpeth and Sycamore will be what it always is, all out war. I thought Sycamore looked good against Clarksville NE the second time around after getting drummed by 28 a couple of nights earlier at their gym. I agree with OutofBounds, it's all about matchups. Sycamore will miss Mitchell and Harpeth will miss Giltner. Both have young benches that aren't very deep. Whoever can stay out of foul trouble will have the upper hand. Catfish would have to tell us the last time Sycamore swept Harpeth in regular season though.

In 2005-2006 Sycamore swept Harpeth in the regular season, but Harpeth came back and won in the District championship. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Yep. I looked it up. I thought it was longer than that.

I don't see either of these 2 teams having the firepower that those two teams had back then. They'll still be great games I'm sure. I'm looking forward to seeing what Creekwood and Waverly have now that I've seen Sycamore and Kenwood 3 times each. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

They love you at LA don't they? You might have to take in a game or two up there and critique their warm up CD. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />

I bet Kenwood is mad they dont get to play at Harpeth anymore. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

They were really getting used to it I think.

I agree about the fire power, definitely not as much. But I do think the games will still be very good.

Love is definitely the right word. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

I plan on making a few games, as it is so close to Cookeville. They play at Ensworth next Saturday, and I will probably make that game. Seeing how it is so close to our place.

I just hope they save me a seat. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Harpeth pulled it out at the free throw line and won 47-46. Not a very good outing by the Indians against Dickson imo. Dickson's big man had a good game. Harpeth was up by about 12 at one point and let the Cougars back in it and then couldn't ice the game at the free throw line missing front ends of two one and ones at the end before Trey Caruthers was fouled on a leaning 15 footer with about 5 seconds left. He made both and that was the ball game. Got to step up before Sycamore.

We will see a lot of energy from both Harpeth and Sycamore, and it should be an interesting game. Aside from Froedden, Sycamore's guard play is down this year which will favor Harpeth defensively up top. The big matchups will be inside with Dempsey-Staggs vs Caruthers-Jones. Offensively, whoever gets the hot hand will have the advantage and I still like Harpeth in this one. Harpeth needs to contest Kilgore as he has been hot, and keep Froedden from penetrating. Crowe needs to get a hot hand early from 3 point range, and Horkins needs to keep driving and slashing. It's a very interesting contest to say the least.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
