It is going to be sloppy tonight in the memphis area with fields in poor condition does anyone think their picks might change based on the style of offense a team plays. Passing teams could have trouble keeping the ball dry and running teams could have trouble with their footing. maybe the scores are lower than expected. Does lower scores mean different winners.

My initial thought is .... "Hush yo mouf!" .... LOL ... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I'm not changing any of my selections. Good teams get it done in bad weather or good weather. I'm staying pat in my choices.

I'm sticking with mine. I think the sloppy conditions will affect all equally.

Would like to meet you at tonights game if you are going to attend. I think you do a wonderful job reporting the Tigers and all of Memphis high school football.

Thanks for the kind words dannyq. I try to represent Memphis well. I will be at tonights game but I probably won't get there until half time or close to it. I usually sit at the 50 up near the top of the stands close to the PA booth. That's where all of the old heads hang out ... LOL. After the games I usually saunter on down to the field and congradulate the coaches and chit chat with a few of them. I'll be the guy in the stands with a brown leather jacket and a black and gold NO Saints baseball cap on his shaved head. Come by and give me a hollar!

Now ... did you give us your picks on the games I mentioned? .. If not ... tell us what you think.

MUS- Boy I would love for Whitehaven to play this team

Cordova- Hope they win for the showdown next week.

White Station-Defense will be the key in this one.

Whitehaven- I'm very bias on this pick. Hope the tigers can get the win despite adversity. That's the mark of a championship team.

I've read on here where we scrimmaged MUS this summer and MUS had a better showing then we did for what it's worth. I talked with some of the coaches and they tried hard to schedule Olive Branch and or South Panola but they couldn't get either of them on the schedule. I think we get it done tonight against Germantown but they still are Germantown and this is NOT a gimme game. This is going to be a hard hitting game!

kwc, I'm not going to say Whitehaven will win 40 something to 14, but I really expect this game tpo be easier than you think it will be. I expect Whitehaven to win by double digits, 24-10 or some such score.

MUS wins easily

Cordova should be ok against Craigmont.

IF (big IF) White Station takes care of the football, they should take care of Collierville, albeit I expect low score, close game.

I'll go with Kirby in a mild upset over Houston

Bless you Spartansfan ... may everything you touch turn to gold ... not in the King Midas type of touch ... but you get the gist of what I mean.

By the way ... where have you been? We've missed your comments on Coacht ... let me rephrase that ... "I've" missed your comments. Don't stay away so long.

You and I are the only people who think Kirby can beat Houston.

    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
    • Interesting read in the fish wrap about why the baseball coach quit. No help with administrative duties. IMO Not a good look for the administration, especially the AD. What in tarnation is going on up there?
