Lawrence Co at Tullahoma

The Lawrence Co Wildcats travel to Tullahoma Friday nite to play in the Wildcats homecoming game. The winner advances on to the playoffs and the loser is finished for the season. It seems thats the case for both teams on a regular basis when they play each other. Lawrence Co beat Whites Creek last Friday nite and the Cobras beat Tullahoma earlier in the season. Tullahoma is trying to end a 2 game losing streak while Lawrence Co ended a 4 game losing streak last Friday nite. This could be the last game ever played at old Wilkins stadium. These two old rivals have played each other every year as far as I can remember. This should be an exciting game with so much on the line for both teams. I'm hoping Tullahoma can stay focused against Lawrence Co with all the distractions of homecoming week.

This exact same scenario played out last year in the season finale, with Tullahoma pulling out a 28-24 win on a Chris Bishop touchdown run with 41 secons remaining.

Both teams are better this year. Lawrence Co. has a legitimate running game this year where last year it relied almost exclusively on its fine QB Garrick Barnett. Barnett is gone now but the balance of the offense is better.

Tullahoma has lost two straight to the Region 5-4A two-headed monster, but nobody on this team is ready to call it a season. With this being the final Region 5-4A in history for both schools, and with this being the final game in the history of Wilkins Stadium, and with the this being Homecoming 2008 at THS, well it stands to reason this should be a great atmosphere.

We invite all you folks from Lawrenceburg to make the trip up 64 and cheer your Wildcats on as they attempt to clinch their only playoff berth in the 12-year history of our region. We will treat you well and serve you some great food and an outstanding band.

Tullahoma folks this is a night to fill up those stands and cheer your team to victory. Yes its going to be cold but you have all winter, spring, and summer to warm up. The time is now to come to the aid of your youth!!!
