Well I have not personally seen Greenback play, but just basing my guess off of the two teams performances against a common opponent in Oneida, I am going to say it is going to be a very close, competitive ballgame. That being said, got to go with my Dogs.

 

Hampton 26

Greenback 21

 

I kind of like your prediction. I have seen both play i think it will be a good game /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

and how long have you belittled Hampton. You for sure have set no example in how to give credit where credit is due. you just prefer sucking up to whoever, except for Hampton. It's okay though, we don't need you.

not trying to hide it, just the Nemesis login apparently is locked up. had to pull the old onw out.

Years of success bring out the arrogance and bad sides of many when the salad days come to an end. I've commented on the disappearance of many posters on here before, and I've noticed some have stopped showing up at the games this year. The true fans are the ones that stick round,support their school, no matter what. This year's team has been a work in progress, and take away some costly penalties, a turnover here and there, and not so much inexperience, they could have been 10-0. I know, "what could have been". But it's true, they were in each and every game they played, had a lead in every game. I've spoken with some of the guys on the team, and they know they're in for a game friday night. They also believe they can win. If you believe you can, who knows? Only time will tell. Go Dogs!

Years of success bring out the arrogance and bad sides of many when the salad days come to an end. I've commented on the disappearance of many posters on here before, and I've noticed some have stopped showing up at the games this year. The true fans are the ones that stick round,support their school, no matter what. This year's team has been a work in progress, and take away some costly penalties, a turnover here and there, and not so much inexperience, they could have been 10-0. I know, "what could have been". But it's true, they were in each and every game they played, had a lead in every game. I've spoken with some of the guys on the team, and they know they're in for a game friday night. They also believe they can win. If you believe you can, who knows? Only time will tell. Go Dogs!

I really don't dislike the team all that much, just a few of your posters on here. You seem to be one of the good ones. People really get tired of hearing how great Hampton is. Now that another team or teams have stolen the spotlight, the fans start bellyaching excuses. It shows a lack of class to not give another program credit for their accomplishment. Hampton wore my Highlanders out the other night. They were the better team. Some people are just so proud, they can't even admit defeat. Thats what bothers me so bad about Hampton. Of course, its not hard to praise programs like Trousdale and South Pitt when they beat you. But now that Cosby has raised the bar and beat you, some of the true colors have come out. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blush:" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

 

Good point. One should be gracious in a loss. One could argue this and that till the end of time, but the bottom line is that Cosby won the game and they should be congratulated. They wanted the football that night and outplayed us. See.... that wasn't so hard. Nice to see you admitting defeat to the dogs. Good luck to Cloudland and Cosby in the playoffs.

      The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.

      I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.

      All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
