i think maryville is going to over look Gville. They will think they have an easy trip to championship game an thats when Greeneville will catch them with there pants down an make them pay. well at least i hope thats what happens /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Kevo...Maryville overlooks no one. You won't get lucky. You will either outcoach Quarles or you will lose. Period. This game is up to your coach. You don't win 73 games straight and all their other accolades by overlooking anyone. It's business. It is bank. You are getting ready to see what professional high school football is like. You will be in the game and then 3-4 mistakes will bring the wall down. The funny thing is that the mistakes really won't be yours...but will be orchistrated by Quarles. There is not one facet of the game he leaves to question.

Maryville does not overlook teams. Thats why they are so great. I am telling you folks Maryville is the great wall of China to get over in the East. But never think it is a lock to get past Maryville. There is some 4A ball across the state played on a higher level that we are not used to, just like in 5A. It matter not next year though. Different classifications. I looked through some future playoff opponents for South and it does not look any easier. I predict Knox Catholic will become the next wall for upper East TN teams in 5A next year (south's classification)

Small world, huh?

It is, it is

What do you think it is when they call the raiders?

(The mamas house raiders) hey there is a trailer court right beside south field! I just call it like I see it .it don??™t feel good when someone is talking about your team does it?

Now to get it straight I like the rebels it??™s just some of their fans that I don??™t. To the ones that don??™t disrespect other teams I??™m sorry for what I said I didn??™t mean you all

It??™s the ones that like to run their mouth..

If your team is any good, most senior HS players end their careers with a loss due to the playoff structure in TN. This is a negative ending for the young men, the coaches, and their parents. But it is not often that devastating. In general, the kids will move on much quicker than the adults.

Based on your internalized expectations and those in the community, response to the season ending event will differ. I would submit South is disappointed because they will not get a chance to host M'ville next week and G'ville is just happy to be there. South might even have had some idea on how to compete with M'ville; G'ville will be in hangover mode after beating South until Wednesday and has no chance. Not to dog the Devils, who have a great program. It is just the expectations. By the way, I would submit South was focused on hosting M'ville. I am not so sure they had crossed the threshold mentally of being able to actually beat them.

There are some really happy people in Greeneville and some really sad ones at South. Greeneville will be sad next week and Maryville will be sad in two weeks when Henry County ends their streak. HC had their wake up call last night. Everyone gets one, some survive it. M'ville has not had one yet. After HC's 28 - 26 win last night it will be interesting to see how M'ville will respond to adversity in the title game. Not to disrespect G'ville, but they have no chance to be emotionally ready to deal with M'ville next week or to provide M'ville with any adversity. Champions answer the bell and make the plays when they have to. South's FG attempt at the end of regulation last night was their bell. They could not quite answer.

Hey screw you man

Gah...LoL, poor Phil. Who would have thought that he would ever be the butt of our jokes, LoL. But nope...guess again bud.

Why, you think Bud took a cheap shot on Fulmer. I would say Fulmer took a cheap shot on Tennessee. To the tune of what...7 mil. Oh, but no I wouldn't retire gracefully when I knew I was not effective anymore. I tell you what, I'll stay and even renew my contract, make them think that I will turn it around...even allude to another national championship, careful not to make any promises, and then get canned with enough bank to buy a small island. Poor Phil. Our next coach will have to win a National Championship to pay off the debt. That is if we get a new coach. I would say Stacy has a shot at this point. /ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
