Guys, if you want to talk public/private, get a CoachT Plus membership and talk in that forum.

Back to this game. Cody Jones threw for 379 yards, 3 TD and 2 INT against Milan in week seven.

Give your thoughts about the Bulldog pass defense and this week's game plan.

A Coach T Plus membership is not required to post in the public/private forum.

To the folks who appear to have been riled by my suggestion that JCS might try to schedule some of the strong programs in west Tennessee as non-region games, certainly no offense was intended. I said that because I suspect our coaching staff would prefer schedule teams who may likely beat us but will make us better for playing them. I guess I'll just stand by to see what all the coaches work out.

Regarding the game: JCS will have to play well offensively to win, but we can play well offensively and still get beaten. For JCS to win, our defense must play really good football for four quarters to have any chance against the athleticism and talent on the Milan offense. If it's a high scoring shootout, JCS will have a tough time.

Gocart, you're correct about the forum. Sorry.

But you guys should still get a plus membership to support the site.

This game might be the most competitive of the four AA games.

Easy there Kum Ba Yah........or however you say that! Every team whether D-I or D-II occasionally has some "big time" studs on their squad! We ALL understand that......PLEASE don't use that to argue your point!! BGA,USJ, and Briarcrest are good.....yes........that is true........Harding Academy.......occasionally.....Davidson Academy......every now and then...........the rest can't play dead in a cowboy movie!! That's right........cream puff city baby!!!! After the season JCS has had, it's an absolute crime to rob future student athletes from the same type playoff atmosphere that these kids are experiencing! However, the choices have been made and you will compete in D-II next season. But please.......NEVER let anyone else you guys say that you "Can't compete with the D-I schools" in the area!! It simply don't hold water!

Please, stick to discussing the game. If you want to rant about private schools, there is a place in the forum for that. THIS thread is NOT the place for it!

Go Cart... Huntingdon will definitely NOT play privates. Many good folks there in the private schools but they have a huge advantage we don't have here in Huntingdon.

We have to play who gets off the bus....

KublahKD.. As I've posted many times here on CoachT privates recruit.. Period... Even if some may not recruit but they get their students form other counties. I didn't know the sisters that are so good for TCA softball are from Decatur County. If Riverside had them don't you think they would be a state contenter? You posted that the schols in DII-A had All Americans on their teams the last several years. Think they started 1st grade there? I would think they were found on the Saturday football afternoon fields in Germanton and Cordova.

JCS and USJ will do well in the new classification but get used to playing schools with the best facilities, coaches and put in just as much money as ya'll do. I'm sure Briarcrest evens gets a couple of athletes from Mississippi.

Again, exactly what does this have to do with the JCS and Milan game? If you want to whine about private schools, there is a section of the forum to do that in. This is not it however.

Where do these people come from? They bash us if we stay and compete with them (even after having our enrollment multiplied by the highest rate in the country) and they bash us if we choose to leave.

I believe that this will be THE game in Tennessee on Friday night. Whomever wins is going to have to absolutely play their "A" game. JCS will have to have a good balance between the pass and the run. RB Will Johnson can hurt you via the run or as a receiver out of the backfield. He has an uncanny ability to make you miss him when you go to tackle him. Cody Jones is really maturing as a QB. He made outstanding decisions and great throws in horrible weather conditions last week against Huntingdon. He can also beat you with his legs and with his right foot. Top to bottom, there may not be a better corp of receivers in West Tennessee They all run good routes and have great hands.

Milan is ............well they are Milan. No team in West Tennessee is deeper at the running back position than the Bulldogs. They have a very good QB who does not make mistakes. Milan also has a very good group of wide outs who have speed to burn.

Both teams have defenses that will take you to the woodshed in a heartbeat. The game on Friday will be a physical contest. The leather will pop and helmets will fly.

Turnovers and special teams play will ultimately decide the outcome of this contest.

Even if you are not a fan of either the Bulldogs or the Eagles, you need to be at this game on Friday. I believe that it will be that good of a game.

    • Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..
    • Pirates are young this year.  Gordy can sleep on them.
    • They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.
    • I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
    • and there is definitely a reason for that—more than just Catholic recruiting.
