Franklin Co. 3

Coffee Co. 1

Well, if you weren't there, you missed an outstanding game. Although Franklin Co. led from start to finish, CC played their hearts out. They had balls bouncing all around the net, just inches aways from 3 or 4 goals. I didn't see any stats, but I would say CC outshot FC 2-1. But, both teams played great. It was most enjoyable game to watch. If all goes as it should, they will play each other again in the conference tournament semi-finals. That will be another great game.

Congratulations FC for a great win.

Hold your heads up CC. You played great. Your time is coming.

Whitey,

This is the first time I've seen FC play this year and they looked very good, as good as I've seen them during the last 3 years. Maybe they are just now peaking. They have a very good coach and they always prepare well for us. We are as good as what you saw at WC. We just are not consistent, because of the age factor I think. Last night we played good enough to win. The balls just did not bounce our way. We play them again in a couple weeks (maybe). And, we may get beat again. But, it won't be because we didn't play our hearts out. I'm proud of our team and what they have accomplished during the last 3 years. We've come a long, long way.

Next week we will play a very, very good Tullahoma team. There will be a ton of emotion on the field. So, it's no telling what will happen. Tullahoma is by far the better team. But with young players like this, you just never know.

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
